Growing Ways

Slipping through the crack
Just a lifeless messenger
Caught in a world of looking back
See how my winds are changing
Watch proud shoulders slack
Is the now built of the past
With no importance I fall back
I won't have to stand alone no
When I've got you by my side
These ways will shatter
The growing ways take us father
Than we ever cared to travel
And if we keep our eyes on the glory
We'll embrace the never forever
Can any matter, weigh any less
Like a medal worn on the chest
A simple memory serves me less
Feel me, Touch me, leave me to waste
Without even taking a taste
This square peg has found it's round hole
And from the nest this bird begines to roll
[PRE-CHORUS]
[CHORUS]
The song "Growing Ways" by SOiL talks about someone who feels lost and alone, slipping through the cracks of life. They're caught in a world that's always looking back, unable to break free from their past. The lyrics suggest that the present may be built from the past but it carries no importance, and therefore, the person falls back. The lyrics talk about how things will shatter when the person has someone by their side. The person yearns for someone to be with them because they won't have to stand alone, and as a result, the growing ways will shatter.
The growing ways mentioned in the song take us further than we ever cared to travel. The lyrics encourage us to keep our eyes on the glory so that we can embrace the never-forever. The song suggests that no matter what the weight of any matter may be, it does not matter. The lyrics suggest that memories serve less as they are simple, "feel me, touch me, leave me to waste, without even taking a taste." This metaphorical comparison emphasizes the idea that the person wants someone who will experience and cherish the moments with them.
In summary, the song's message is about finding someone to share life with instead of feeling alone while confronting life's challenges. The singer finds meaning in life by having someone support them through hard times.
