In 2007, Knowles began to record music again. Her second studio album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams (2008) deviated from the pop-oriented music of her debut to Motown-inspired sounds from the 60's and 70's. It peaked at number nine on the US Billboard 200 and received positive reviews from critics. She followed this up with the 1980s pop and R&B-inspired EP True (2012) on Terrible Records and her imprint Saint Records. Her third studio album, A Seat at the Table (2016) was released to widespread critical acclaim and became her first number-one album in the United States. The album's lead single, "Cranes in the Sky" won the Grammy for Best R&B Performance. Her fourth studio album, When I Get Home, was released in March 2019 to further critical acclaim.
Knowles was heavily influenced by Motown girl groups and says that her first passion is songwriting. Frequently compared by the media to her sister BeyoncΓ©, Knowles has claimed that they have different aspirations and are musically different. She has been ranked by Billboard as the 100th most successful dance artist of all-time, and in 2017 was honored with the "Impact Award" at Billboard Women in Music. Her other ventures include an endorsement deal with Rimmel London and a line of hip-hop-oriented merchandise for young children.
Interlude: No Limits
Solange Lyrics

My grandfather, Big Daddy, was in the military
And, uh, you know, he always said, "Man, them people ain't gon' do nothing for us."
So he was like,"Grandson, you need to start your own army."
And that's where the tanks and the military thing come from
See, I watched the, the Avon lady in my hood
She popped her trunk and sell her products
So I put all my CDs and cassettes in the back of my trunk and I hit every city, every hood
I said, "Because I don't have no limit to what I could do."
Solange's song Interlude: No Limits features a spoken word monologue by the American rapper Master P, in which he reveals the origin of the name "No Limit," which is the name of his record label, multimedia company, and brand. Master P explains that the name "No Limit" comes from his grandfather, who was a military veteran and taught him the value of self-reliance and entrepreneurship. Master P's grandfather encouraged him to start his own army, leading him to develop a military-themed aesthetic for his brand, including the use of tanks.
Furthermore, Master P describes how he was inspired by the business tactics of a woman in his neighborhood who sold Avon products out of her car trunk. He took a similar approach with his music, loading up his own trunk with CDs and cassettes and touring across the country, stopping in every city and hood he could find. When his grandfather asked why he chose the name "No Limit," Master P explained that the name conveyed his belief in his own unlimited potential and determination to succeed.
The song is a brief interlude in Solange's album A Seat at the Table, but Master P's words serve as a powerful testament to the importance of hard work, self-reliance, and perseverance in the pursuit of success. The song reminds listeners that there are no limits to what they can achieve if they have the courage and determination to pursue their dreams.
