Grand As Loving

Is grand as loving
So grand you can't
Escape nowhere
As it's giving
Wounds are taking
Hard though to tell
I can just close my eyes
And let you stand outside
Maybe favors
Can be disguised and
Disasters would lighten up
A better way
So maybe hurting
Is as grand as loving
Maybe hurting
Is as grand as loving
Sophie Zelmani's song Grand As Loving is a powerful exploration of the paradox of love and hurt. The lyrics suggest that hurting can be just as grand as loving. In fact, hurting is so grand that you can't escape it no matter how hard you try. But this grandeur comes with a cost. While love gives, wounds take away. And it's hard to tell what exactly is being taken away.
The lyrics seem to suggest that hurting and loving are two sides of the same coin. Maybe favors can be disguised as disasters, and disasters can be the key to a better way. So, maybe hurting is the price we pay for loving. Maybe it's the inevitable consequence of loving someone deeply.
The song invites us to consider the fragility of love, and how it can sometimes lead to pain and hurt. But despite this, the song suggests that hurting can be just as grand as loving. It's a powerful message - that even in the midst of pain and hurt, there is beauty and grandeur to be found.
