Band Members:
Founding members Paco Estrada (vocals), G.I. Sanders (guitar), and Chad Abbott (guitar), were the mainstays for the band, performing on every recording and at every show during the band's existence. Dave Shafer (bass) and Tabber Millard (drums) were also members of the band at the end. Other members included Moe Martinez (drums), Doug McGrath (bass), Spencer Estep (drums), and Scot Risch (bass).
History:
Drama Kids (2001-2004)
Drama Kids was originally released by Dallas based indie label Brando Records, and later re-released nationally by MCA. The lead single, Dear Claudia, received good airplay in the U.S. and was included in an episode of Law & Order SVU. Ken Shimamoto of the Fort Worth Weekly said Paco Estrada's "pipes are strong and expressive enough to set him apart from the other 10,000 faceless, droning alt-rock angst-boys''. MCA closed its doors while SouthFM was touring in support of Drama Kids, leaving the band and album behind. Many MCA artists were merged into Geffen Records, SouthFM however, was dropped.
Swallowing The Pill (2005-2006)
After nearly two years of writing since parting ways with MCA/Geffen the band released their follow up album, Swallowing The Pill, yet again on Brando Records. Two singles were officially released to radio, Killing Me and Blue & Grey. The band toured regionally throughout 2005 and 2006, until their final show on October 28th, 2006 at the Curtain Club in Dallas, Texas.
Before The World Will End

Collecting round the porch light
Echoing the twilight
Another day will dawn here
This city sleeps in silence
The writings on the wall
The distance between streetlights
I don't know where you are
If you can sleep at all
Under this quiet sky
Intense anticipation cuts this deaf calm like a razor blade
And no one seems to notice
No one seems to notice
Something is near
Approaches children sleeping
A light upon these delicate eyes
With our ears against the ground
Because the war is in our minds
The sun and moon are trading places
And no one seems to notice
We've only a few moments
Before the world will end
I don't know where you are
Or how you sleep at night
If you can sleep at all
Under this quiet sky
We've only a few moments
Before the world will end
And no one seems to notice
No one seems to notice
And when I think of you I still have regrets
The things we never said
The things we never did
If I could change the past then the things I said
I'd have said them more
I would have said it more
I love you
The lyrics of SouthFM's "Before The World Will End" paint a picture of an impending apocalypse. The song begins with a reference to the seasonal progression, "April showers bring the mayflies," setting a haunting scene of a city sleeping in silence. The imagery of the distance between streetlights and the writings on the wall indicates a desolate atmosphere of a place abandoned and forgotten. The chorus highlights the urgency of the situation - "Something is near, approaches children sleeping."
The song then shifts to a personal perspective, with the lyrical inquiry of "I don't know where you are or how you sleep at night, if you can sleep at all under this quiet sky." The sense of isolation and longing is emphasized with the repetition of this verse later in the song. The next line - "intense anticipation cuts this deaf calm like a razor blade" - further establishes the underlying tension in the air.
As the song progresses, the lyrics become more introspective, culminating in a confession of love and regret. The final lines, "I still have regrets, the things we never said, the things we never did...I love you," express a poignant sentiment that adds emotional depth to the song.
Overall, "Before The World Will End" is a haunting and thought-provoking track that explores the existential themes of mortality and the fleeting nature of time.
