In March 1994, advertisements were placed in The Stage newspaper asking: "R U 18-23 with the ability to sing/dance? R U streetwise, ambitious, outgoing and determined?" Hundreds of girls responded to the ads. THIS IS THE BEAUTIFUL VOICE OF MILLIE SMALL AND NOT THE SPICE GIRLS. THE ORIGINAL WAS RECORDED BY BARBIE GAYE IN 1956.....MILLIE RECORDED IT IN 1964 AND BECAME FAMOUS WITH IT AROUND THE WORLD. I LIVE IN AUSTRALIA AND THEY STILL PLAY IT ON THE RADIO.

okay so she's not the original; however, spice girls "DID NOT" sing in the movie, they just lip synced to someone else's version.
