1) Spoon is an American indie rock band from Austin, Texas. The band was formed in late 1993 by lead singer/guitarist Britt Daniel and drummer Jim Eno. Current members also include: Eric Harvey (keyboard, guitar, percussion, backing vocals) and Rob Pope (bass, backing vocals - replaced Joshua Zarbo in 2007).
After releasing their debut LP Telephono on Matador Records, the band signed with Elektra in 1998, but the contract was dropped soon after the band released A Series of Sneaks. In response the band released a two-song single titled The Agony of Laffitte (referring to Elektra A&R man Ron Laffitte). Eventually they signed to Merge Records.
Spoon has been met with widespread critical acclaim. Girls Can Tell, released in 2001, sold more copies than both their previous releases combined. Kill the Moonlight accomplished the same feat a year later. Gimme Fiction was released on May 10, 2005 and continued the trend of increasing popularity for the band.
Britt Daniel wrote much of the soundtrack to the 2006 film Stranger Than Fiction. Four tracks by Spoon are also featured.
The band released their sixth studio album Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga on July 10, 2007; those who purchased the first pressing also received a bonus disc titled Get Nice!.
Transference is their seventh studio album. It was released on January 18, 2010 in Europe, and on January 19 in North America, to moderately positive reviews.

Jonathon Fisk
Spoon Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Maybe you locked away
Maybe we will meet again some better day
Some better life
Jonathan Fisk speaks with his first
Can't let me walk home on my own
Just like a knife down on my life
It's such a long way home
Ooh that's how the story goes
And it's
Atom bombs some bloody razors
Atom bombs and bloody razors
Jonathan Fisk says it's a sin but he don't think twice 'cause to hell
Religion don't mean a thing
Oooh just another way to be right wing
Just like a knife down on my life
So many ways to set it right
Oh it's how it goes
That's how the story goes
It's such a long way home
Ohoooh you're too old to understand
'Cause I just wanna go home now
I just wanna go home now
Jonathan right down on my life
So many ways to set me right
Oohhh long walk home
That's how the story goes
Jonathan Fisk always a risk
Tells me he counts my teeth every night
I wanna get all back now
I wanna get em alright
I wanna turn him around yah
Oooh turn him around
Oooh ooh turn him around
The lyrics of the song Jonathan Fisk by Spoon are full of ambiguity and lack of clarity- it could be interpreted in more ways than one. The line "Not that you remember, maybe you locked away" suggests a relationship or encounter that could be forgotten or lost. It could also mean the possibility of meeting again someday, in a better future or afterlife. The singer talks about a guy named Jonathan Fisk, who speaks with his fists and cannot let her walk home alone- this could mean a possessive or controlling behavior. Fisk's words imply that he is okay with violence and sinning, and religion does not matter to him- it is just another way to be right-wing. The overall narrative of the song seems to be about finding closure and moving on from a person or situation, but with uncertainty about the future or the past.
