Jo-Ann Greene writes about "Mind Control" AllMusic.com: "Stephen has continued to grow, adding new sounds and styles to his repertoire over the years. A conduit to the past and a bridge to the future, his music -- like his father's -- sounds timeless: reggae that embraces the world."
2004 he started the 27-city Bob Marley Roots, Rock, Reggae Festival tour with his four brothers and sons of Bob – Ziggy, Julian, Damian and Ky-Mani – each of whom have their own professional recording careers. The tour was the first time the brothers have officially performed together on stage.
Every February in Miami, Marley and his brothers perform at his family's annual Caribbean Festival in honour of their late father Bob Marley.

Oh my head's anointed with the powers of love
Though the wicked persecute I with envy and grudge
Oh my head's anointed.
There is no room for mistakes, we sailing the tight ship per sure,
Got the crew, swift to place, oh clear as first.
There is no room for mistakes, mama say,
Oh clear as first
Though the wicked persecute I, still my heart just loved.
Oh my head's anointed with the powers of love.
Though them wicked persecute I with envy and grudge
But my head's anointed.
There is no room for mistakes, we sailing the tight ship per sure,
Got the crew, swift to place, oh clear as first.
There is no room for mistakes, papa say,
Sailing the tight ship per sure, got the crew, swift to place,
Oh clear as first
Let's get this ship up in spite of sparking, yeah
All hands on deck I say, oh let me sail again
Lets get this ship up in spite of sparking, yeah
All hands on deck I say
Oh let me, gotta sail again
From we a likkle bwoy dem used to grudge we
Fi we horlicks
Nuff a dem no hold no joy dem full bare envy and malice
Nuff a dem a get bad mind and saying those arrogant Marleys
Them say who Jah bless, no man curse, Babylon is harmless
Alright now nuff a dem hard at work , them watching who’s working the hardest
Grass hopper jump at anything that scruffle in the grasses
Lion dem never yet grudge the other creatures of the forest.
What you reap is what you sow , don’t be surprised when we a harvest
The lyrics of Tight Ship convey a message of resilience in the face of adversity. The singers in the song acknowledge the persecution that they face from the wicked, but assert that their hearts are filled with love and their heads are anointed with the powers of love. This suggests that the singers draw strength and motivation from their love for others and the love that they receive in return. The title of the song refers to the idea of sailing a tight ship, which means operating with precision and avoiding mistakes. The singers emphasize that there is no room for mistakes in their journey, and describe their crew as swift and as clear as first. This suggests that they are highly focused and efficient in carrying out their mission. They receive wisdom and guidance from their parents, who encourage them to keep sailing a tight ship despite the challenges they face.
The second verse uses metaphors to describe the envy and malice that the singers face from their detractors. They suggest that some people are envious of their success and seek to undermine them. However, the singers assert that they will reap what they sow and will ultimately succeed. They use the example of the lion, which does not grudge the other creatures of the forest, to illustrate the importance of avoiding envy and malice. The song ends with a call to action, with the singers urging everyone to work together to get the ship sailing again, despite the sparks that may fly.
