To date, Stone Sour has released six studio albums Stone Sour (2002); Come What(ever) May (2006); Audio Secrecy (2010); House of Gold & Bones – Part 1 (2012); House of Gold & Bones – Part 2 (2013) and Hydrograd (2017). They also released a digital live album, Live in Moscow, in 2007. Their album, Hydrograd was released in June 2017 and is their first album to feature guitarist Christian Martucci.
Stone Sour earned the group two Grammy Award nominations, both for Best Metal Performance, for the singles "Get Inside", in 2003, and "Inhale", in 2004. From their 2006 album, Come What(ever) May, the group received another Grammy Award nomination for Best Metal Performance for the single "30/30-150". The band has sold 2.1 million albums in the United States as of April 2017.
In 2020, Corey Taylor announced that the band will be on "Indefinite Hiatus", saying that it it didn't feel the way that it felt in the past.

The lyrics of Stone Sour's "82" are cryptic, leaving much room for interpretation. However, it seems to describe the frustrations of feeling trapped in a life you don't want, but being unable to escape because of circumstances beyond your control. The first verse alludes to being caught in some kind of trap, represented by the rat caught in a Chinese trap. The singer has nothing to show for his life except ashes, indicating that he feels like he's accomplished nothing. He's resigned to being just another number caught in a fuse, waiting for something to happen. That something happens in 1982, though exactly what that is remains unclear.
The chorus features the singer asking if someone else is to blame for his situation. He wants them to see what they've done to him, but he doesn't specify what that is. Meanwhile, he's eager to get away from where he is now, confident that he'll find his own place and his own life. He's seen too much and wants nothing to do with whatever someone else thinks he should have.
The second verse continues with the theme of feeling trapped and alone. The singer is always talking to himself, unsure if he's really on the right path. He's resigned to simply taking things to a level where he can't refuse, settling for less than he wants. He still wants someone else to see what they've done to him, but once again, he doesn't say what that is. Instead, he's focused on getting away and setting others straight about their misconceptions. The bridge suggests that there's a devil inside that can make one give up everything, but there's also the option to live for a world that must be free.
