On Fire
Stryper Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Good, God y'all
I'm on fire
I'm on fire
I'm on fire
I'm on fire

Oh yeah!
One time!

Fire!
Fire!
Fire!

Lay your bodies down
I'm in your beds. Your beds
Throw your headphones on
I'm in your heads! Ah-ha!

Now I'm hangin' ten now baby
As I ride your sonic, oo-wave

Good God y'all

I'm on fire
I'm on fire
I'm on fire
I'm on fire
I'm on fire
I'm on fire
I'm on fire
I'm on fire
I'm on fire
I'm on fire

I'm on fire
I'm on fire

Their are some bands that are extremely difficult to 'cover', and do it well. Van Halen is one, for a myriad of reasons, one being 'they have their own distinct sound', & Eddies guitar style is unlike anyone else in the history of rock n roll. This is amazing, Stryper are not 'just another hair band'. Their musical prowess, the harmonies, every aspect of what they do, is vastly under-rated. What a band! Great job on a very difficult tune to cover!

My favourite Van Halen song by far. This cover just blows me away. All the songs they cover on this album are exceptional. Glad to hear they dug deep in the VH library rather than playing one that's been overplayed and worn out.

who would have thought that stryper would be such an excellent cover band. dang these guys played some great 80's metal songs tighter than a clenched fist. cheers and hail stryper!

Phenomenal job on this cover. Not too many bands could pull this off so close to the Kings of Rock. Out fucking standing.

cryptsub

This is a great metal cover!

I remember reading that Oz Fox was known as the cool kid in his neighborhood who could play "I'm the One". Another great track from that album!! I'm not surprised how killer it is.

IDK that it has more views than all of Van Halens' versions or different vids. of this tune. It is an incredible 'cover', Stryper because of the 'yellow & black' theme, got unfairly labeled as a 'gimmick' band by some, and unless you really listen to an entire album by this band, simply remembering the MTv hits, you are missing out on one of the most talented bands in the history of rock n roll. I believe Heaven n Hell, or Highway Star, off the same CD this came from, are even better than this.

I'd love to hear Styper cover hundreds of songs. Michael Sweet can sing his ass off.
