2) SUNCHILD is yet another prog project from talented and prolific Ukrainian musician Antony KALUGIN. KALUGIN currently records under three band names, KARFAGEN, HOGGWASH and SUNCHILD. Under the SUNCHILD name, he brought together a plethora of other Ukranian musicians to supplement his impressive keyboard and writing talents. The music is an all out prog feast with many varied tempos and loads of keyboards washing over everything. A wide array of horns and woodwinds are used to great extent as well. KALUGIN does the bulk of the singing (in English) with perhaps a slight accent. He also brings in guest vocalists, both male and female to add even more dimensions to the proceedings. The debut album is a double that features three songs over 16 minutes.
KALUGIN is young (born 1981) but his already wide experience as a professional musician has propelled him to a high place among young artists recording prog today.
3) Self-produced project of David Curtin.
In the midst of departing from the rap-rock world, gradually becoming less of an mc and more of a singer-songwriter, David picks up his mom's old yamaha nylon string acoustic guitar and starts singing and arranging songs. One year or so later, sunchild is born, a collection of songs constructed by David. Some of the songs are layered with soundtrack-like violin arrangements, some are played over hip-hop type electric drum patterns. Some of the songs are recorded in state of the art recording studios, some are recorded in David's bedroom on a 4-track analog recorder he bought at a pawn shop for $40.
The debut self-titled sunchild is a very original, raw yet polished, honest arrangement of songs.

The gypsy flies from coast to coast,
Knowing many, loving none,
Bearing sorrow, having fun.
But, back home he'll always run,
To sweet Melissa.
Mmmm-hmmm.
And no one knows the gypsy's name,
And no one hears his lonely sighs,
There are no blankets where he lies.
Lord, in his deepest dreams the gypsy flies,
With sweet Melissa.
Mmmm-hmmm.
Again, the mornin's come.
Again, he's on the run.
A sunbeam's shinin through his hair.
Fear not to have a care.
Well, pick up your gear and gypsy roll on.
Roll on.
Crossroads, will you ever let him go? Lord, Lord.
Or will you hide the dead man's ghost?
Or will he lie, beneath the clay?
Or will his spirit float away?
But, I know that he won't stay,
Without Melissa.
Yes, I know that he won't stay, yeah,
Without Melissa.
Lord, Lord, it's all the same.
Mmmmm-hmmmmm.
The lyrics to Sunchild's song "Typify" depict the life of a restless gypsy who travels from one place to another, without any attachment to any particular place or person. The crossroads serve as a metaphor for the choices the gypsy has to make along the way during his travels. He bears both sorrow and happiness, and while he may love many, he never attaches himself to anyone, knowing that he will always return home to his sweetheart, Melissa. The verses emphasize the gypsy's loneliness, as he travels alone and nameless, with no one to hear his sighs or offer him a place to rest. The chorus reflects the gypsy's deep yearning for Melissa, whom he must always return to, no matter how far he wanders.
The song emphasizes the gypsy's transience and serves as a reminder that life can be fleeting and unpredictable. The gypsy may never find a permanent home, but he finds comfort in the knowledge that he will always return to the one he loves. The song also highlights the idea of the spirit being free and untethered, even if the physical body is bound to the earth.
