The song "Kanashimi no Ame ga Furu" (Sad Rain is Pouring) by The Alfee consists of verses that depict a person who is always crying in the rain, unable to catch up with their dreams and youth. The city around them is slowly getting dark, and the person is turning their back to it. The rain doesn't stop falling into their empty heart, making them feel even more hopeless.
The chorus talks about the singer chasing after endless youth with this person who is always crying in the rain. The memories of that time when they were together remain vivid, and the singer wants to go back to that time, even if they can't. The bridge describes a night when the two people that the song is about got drunk, and the singer utters the other person's name. They raced up the subway staircase without knowing the meaning of goodbye that was waiting for them. In the end, the rain doesn't stop, and the person who cries in it is still standing there, gazing off into the distance, crying.
