Face to Face
TWINS Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I thought it would be easy
To forget you
For after all it's been
Such a long time

And yet the memories of you
Still hurt me
They've been inscribed
With needles in my mind

I'm sure I could convince you
If only you would let us meet again

Face to face, heart to heart
Face to face, heart to heart

Think back
To when we were together
How long we thought
Our mutual love would last

How hard it was for us
To leave each other
Is all of that now
Buried in the past

I'm sure I could convince you
If only you would let us meet again

Face to face, heart to heart
Face to face, heart to heart
Face to face, heart to heart
Face to face, heart to heart

Face to face, heart to heart
Face to face, heart to heart

Face to face, heart to heart
Face to face, heart to heart

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Twins's song "Face To Face Heart To Heart" are about the struggle to move on from a past relationship. The singer expresses how they thought forgetting their former partner would be easy after so much time has passed, but they still feel the pain of their memories. The memories are depicted as being inscribed with needles in the mind, a powerful metaphor that conveys how deeply they're ingrained.

As the song progresses, the singer remembers how they used to think that their love would last forever and how hard it was to leave each other. They wonder if all of that mutual love is now buried in the past. Despite the pain and uncertainty, the singer is confident that they could convince their former partner to meet again if only they would agree. The repeated phrase "face to face, heart to heart" echoes this desire for a personal, intimate confrontation to work things out.

Overall, "Face To Face Heart To Heart" is a song that taps into the universal experience of heartbreak and the longing for closure. It's a poignant reminder that even as time passes, the wounds of love can endure.

@ztopwwx

@ztopwwx

@ztopwwx
