Fánar Burtur Brandaljóð
TYR Lyrics

Lokin er mín sigursferð
Hifar at tøla tað floygda fljóð
Eingin er líki hennar í hesu verð
Farið havi ey fjart um lond
Handan hav og høgu fjøll
Higar at tøla ta liljuvond
Burtur frá hesari jarðargrund
Yvir høv og háfjøll køld
Flýgur meg fagrasta menjarsprund
Endar øld handan høgu stjørnufjøld
The lyrics of Týr's song Fánar Burtur Brandaljóð are written in Faroese language and describe the journey of the singer's spirit after death. The first four lines mean "The flag is waving in the wind, my victory journey is over. To the heights I dare to speak, there is no one like her in this world." These lines can be interpreted as the singer being satisfied with the life he/she lived, having achieved victory in his/her journey. The next two lines, "I have traveled far over lands beyond sea and high mountains, to speak about my lily wounds. She, the lonely, rose on my field of death" represent the singer's search for answers after death, traveling to distant lands and seeking comfort from the one person he/she considers to be the most empathetic.
The final lines of the song, "Away from this earthly ground, over the heights and cool mountains, the fairest beckoning maiden flies to me. The age ends, beyond the high star cluster" describe the singer's release from the earthly bounds and the end of an era. The maiden represents the death that the singer has been seeking and is finally at peace with. The song evokes a sense of acceptance of the end of life and the journey onward.
