Unglued
Tait Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Restless and alone
A weary soul has traveled home
What am I to do
In a world without you

I can hardly believe
I turned around and you're gone
All the sweet memories
Of loving you for so long

Sometimes it's hard
Most times I cry
But God holds this heart of mine
He feels the pain inside

Broken and undone
You're were the one we counted on
You taught us how to say
I love you

Then you showed us how to pray
I don't want to believe
I turned around and you're gone
All the sweet memories

Of loving you for so long
Sometimes it's hard
Most times I cry
But God holds this heart of mine

And He heals the pain I hide
Sometimes it's hard
Most times I cry
But God knows this heart of mine

He feels the pain inside

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Tait's song Unglued deal with grief and loss, particularly the loss of a loved one. The singer is feeling restless and alone after this person has passed away, and they don't know what to do now that they're gone. The song suggests that this person was important to the singer, as they taught them how to love and how to pray. The loss of this loved one is causing the singer a great deal of pain, but they find solace in the fact that God is holding their heart and feeling the pain with them.

The chorus repeats the theme of pain and crying, but also emphasizes God's role in healing the singer's hidden pain. The lyrics suggest that while the pain of losing someone never fully goes away, it can be made bearable through faith and knowing that God is there to comfort and heal.

One thing you are missing is all of the comedy BEFORE TRACK ONE.  I don't know if your computer will do it, but my car does, and so does my portable CD player from the early 2000's.  There is about 5 minutes of Michael Tait goofing around as some Reverend talking about Michael Tait's "dreadloops" and such.  Pretty funny.

@LaShawn680

this was a song that mad me think of my grandparents when they passed away and I was so sad about them.
