MIA
Taylor Lyrics

Yo quiero tener a solas
Y que no pasen las horas

Morena mía,
Cumple tus fantasías
Ven quédate conmigo hasta el otro día
Que el tiempo se pare
Que nada nos separe
Ven quédate conmigo hasta el otro día

Ay morena, morena, morena
Ay morena, morena, morena mía
(Quédate conmigo hasta que salga el sol)
Ay morena, morena, morena
Ay morena, morena, morena mía
(Quédate conmigo hasta que salga el sol)

Morena mía
Cumple tus fantasías
Ven quédate conmigo, conmigo
Que el tiempo se pare
Que nada nos separe
Ven quédate conmigo hasta el otro día

Ay morena, morena, morena
Ay morena, morena, morena mía
(Quédate conmigo hasta que salga el sol)
Ay morena, morena, morena

Ay morena, morena, morena mía (Taylor Díaz)
(Quédate conmigo hasta que salga el sol)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Taylor Díaz's song "Morena Mía" paint a picture of a romantic evening spent with a lover under the full moon, away from the worries of the world. The opening lines describe the couple lying on the sand under the full moon, enjoying each other's company as the music plays and the sea washes away their sorrows. The chorus is an invitation to the listener's lover to stay with them, to fulfill their fantasies and ignore the constraints of time and space.

The second verse describes a blackout in the town of Veracruz, where the couple is spending the night. In the darkness, the singer asks their lover to tell them what will happen between them, and they express their desire to spend more time alone together. The song ends with a repetition of the chorus, calling the listener's lover to stay with them until the sun rises.

Overall, the lyrics are a romantic and passionate invitation to enjoy the present moment, throw caution to the wind, and embrace the pleasures of life with the person you love.

Hip-Hop SHUperfan!

As a number one fan of Shu Uchida, She did an amazing job doing the accents.

Hip-Hop SHUperfan!

@Derek Leung thanks. I guess i didn't see the typo

KID Z4P

It’s a shame that Shu never got to voice Mia in the English dub. Then again, it would be a poor practice for an Australian to talk like a New Yorker.

Take Black Butler for example. It had some Texan VAs voicing British characters.

phothewin

Her Australian accent slips out a teeny bit sometimes. Like, you could tell it's a non-American trying to sound American.

Tennojiberi

It would've been worse of Shu Uchida carried on the English dub, no wonder why Mia got casted by Lindsay Sheppard instead

phothewin

@Tennojiberi Yeah, a lot of fans were disappointed that she didn't do the English dub, but it doesn't seem like she'd be able to do an American accent well enough for that.

HyperLuigi

I think she’s literally only a few steps from having a super authentic accent, she just hasn’t gotten there yet, I wish I could help her lol

HyperLuigi

@phothewin it’s also worth mentioning that casting people who live in Japan for English dubs is very difficult due to not having the guaranteed consistent recording environment/equipment, the EN dub for D4DJ said that using Maho with her original actress was pretty difficult for that reason

Zaychik Rand Bronya

@Tennojiberi finally someone realized one of the reasons why Shu didn't cast for the English dub
