His tenth studio album, K.O.D., was released October 27, 2009. He has spent his illustrious career making sure heβs been grinding harder than the average rapper, and is the best selling artist out of his hometown. With nine solo albums and two powerhouse collaboration projects under his belt, the Kansas City MCβs flow is sharper and slicker than itβs ever been.
βThis is another roller coaster ride,β explains TECH N9NE about the release. βWhen it came time for Sickology 101, I knew I wanted to do a collabo album based on the study of being sick. Itβs a beginnerβs course for people who donβt know how to be sick lyrically or how to choose sick beats. It all starts with beats because they tell me exactly what to do.β Epic beats from YoungFyre, Wyshmaster, Seven and Matic Lee set the stage for TECH N9NE to weave his introspective and sometimes roguish lyrics around.
Sickology 101 brims with stellar appearances from lyrical heavyweights. On the opening title track, TECH N9NE slays alongside Chino XL and Crooked I, pulling listeners into the Hip-Hop classroom for a lesson in murdering a beat. Itβs a twisted vision forged on undeniable grooves and quixotic wordplay.
The single, βNothin,ββ is an inspiring, honest anthem that features Messy Marv and Big Scoob. Meanwhile, on βMidwest Choppers 2,β TECH N9NE and Krayzie Bone cruise to the depths of darkness. βKrayzie Bone came through and murdered it,β says TECH N9NE. βI modeled the song after movies. When you do a sequel, there has to be a bigger body count and more people have to die. βMidwest Choppers 2β is Autobahn-style. It makes you want to speed.β
TECH N9NEβs inimitable flow and rhyming take center stage on solo tracks, including the haunting, hypnotic βRed Nose.β He doesnβt pull any punches on the vitriolic, YoungFyre-produced βBlown Away,β either. Itβs an open letter to several prominent urban artists who refused to play before him at radio festivals despite his massive concert draw.
With hits like βIβm A Playa,β βCaribou Louβ (which boasts 7.2 million MySpace plays), βRiotmaker,β βLike Yeahβ and βEverybody Move,β itβs no wonder TECH N9NE counts a total of over 4.5 million YouTube video plays and an average of 40,000 MySpace visitors each day. His success knows no limits. The July 2008 release, Killer, debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums chart and Number 12 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. He did it all on his own. There was no major label β just TECH N9NEβs own record company, Strange Music. TECH N9NEβs tracks have appeared in films like Gang Related and Alpha Dog as well as various TV shows, and he recently made his motion picture debut in The Life of Lucky Cucumber alongside members of MTVβs βJackassβ crew.
It hasnβt been an easy road, but TECH N9NE soldiers on and heβll never stop. βThey call me devil worshipper because Iβm different. I give you music for my core. Theyβre the people that put me over the million mark. I raise my middle finger to everybody who judges me because my core audience is there for me. They will always love me, but Iβm trying to reach others, too. Itβs not over. My music is supposed to be for everybody, but some people just donβt get it. This album is the result; swallow it. Itβs middle finger music, all-day and all-night.β
TECH N9NE never stops bringing that music directly to his fans, constantly reinforcing his status as one of the hardest-touring rap acts in the business. In 2008, TECH N9NE performed over 200 shows and he doesnβt show any signs of slowing down in 2009. In April, TECH will head out in support of Sickology 101 and spend two months on the road, performing live for his rabid fans.
Sickology 101 is prepping the world for TECH N9NEβs next masterpiece, K.O.D. βI want people to know that Iβm getting better and better and Iβm a machine. I do these collabo albums to give the fans more. This is a bridge record to K.O.D. Itβs the farewell to the TECH N9NE youβve known lately. Itβs getting darker. A lot of people might not be able to go to the place Iβm going, but this place is my specialty.β
βI donβt need people to kiss my hand,β assures TECH N9NE. βIβm not trippinβ on status, and Iβm not a narcissist when it comes to rap. Itβs my heart and soul pouring onto the paper. I write my life and I canβt hold back. This is what I know.β

Gangsta Shap
Tech N9ne Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
Huh
Yo it don?t start until I get there
Show them how to Gansta Shap
Cause where I?m from
That?s where all the ganstaz at
And when we come
Yo we get to actin a ass
If we get to moving to fast
See we go stuie-ooowee
From the Bay all the way
To Missouri-ouri
Back it up on me mama
Look what you do to me-ooowee
We do it raw
Gone off Caribou Louy-ooowee
More then super dooey-ooowee
Cheers!
One or two beers and you shap
It's like lean and rock wit it
Only you don?t lean and snap
You like left side, right side, hands about chest high
Then you wink at shorty in the corner with the left eye
How you doin?
I?m off a lil somethin leanin
Weed got my nerves, got a lil trouble breathin (breathin)
Me and my heathen's is about to turn this mother out
Dip in the whip, burn rubber out
Gangsta Shap
[Chorus][4X]
Gangsta Shap
Gang? Gang
Gangsta Shap
Gang? Gang
[Kutt Calhoun]
Wait a minute hold up
There?s too many chiefs and not enough soldiers
For the world wars
Standin on the front line tight in my toga
I?m a Greek God
Blood aphliated, Duce Klik Street Mobb
Man I put this souly on my dookie brown dickeys
Hail to the be side
Capnaptavate these Killa City killings
Nigga you can?t calculate big clips (Long)
Inner City menaces, These kids get it (on)
We don't fight no more
All we do is this *Cocking Gun*
All we do is this *Gunshot*
Lately it's been through a bitch
And that's cost for livin in
The center of Killa City
Where these niggaz Willy Wonka chop at any men
Who feeling they really raw
Get to pullin dogs at the dark demonians
Nobody for you to call
When it do desolve
Just a harsh remembrance
You might have got through it all but was too involved
And it?s very scary
It?s kind of pathetic
Nobody is sympathetic when you dead and buried
We rugged and rigid no pun is intended
And when them thangs go clap
We gangstaz man
We bring the trap
Remember killaz don?t dance man
We G-G-G.. Gang? G-G-G?..
[Chorus][4X]
Gangsta Shap
Gang? Gang
Gangsta Shap
Gang? Gang
[Tech N9ne]
I remember my school days
When I was dancer
Back when LL Cool J was walkin with a panther
Actually dancing was not
But rap was the answer
But with the shap
It was cool for the gangstaz to dance to
Still here we stand with this dance
That spread like a cancer
Cool for the man
Even the woman or the baby in pampers
Dancin is deep
And it?s dirty like the crevice of your hamper
Raisin your hands up high in this bitch
Cause you amped up
(Go)
Nike, Air Jordan at the bottom
In the middle was a Nautica pair
Lot of erotica there
But up top I got the gangsta black
Doin the Gangsta Shap
Nigga thanks for that
Imperial! nigga
You don?t want to see me go speedy
Bro need to see me flow
Never get this choppin up out of me
He better see the dough
We be so cold wit it
Boy we need some wool mittens
Ladies just roll wit it
Everything is cool kitten
Tilt your head like you got some screws missin
But have that look on your face
Like when you say you bullshittin
Gangsta Shap
The song "Gangsta Shap" by Tech N9ne featuring Krizz Kaliko and Kutt Calhoun is a rap song that talks about "Gangsta Shap," which is an urban dance move. Krizz Kaliko, in the first verse, claims that it doesn't really count as a party until he arrives, and that's where the gangstas are at. From the Bay to Missouri, they all engage in Gangsta Shap, which is sometimes too fast that it makes them go stuie-ooowee. The lyrics talk about how a couple of beers can make someone shake, but it's no snap dance; it involves the left and right side of the body, hands are about chest high, and then they wink on the left eye to shorty in the corner. He, however, admits that he is on "a lil somethin leaning, " which indicates that he could be under the influence, as he also mentions trouble breathing.
In the second verse, Kutt Calhoun talks about the gangsters' life in Killa City, where there are too many chiefs and not enough soldiers. He describes himself as a Greek God, and he's affiliated with the Duce Klik Street Mobb, where he explains that they don't fight anymore; they just cock their guns when they need to. He also mentions that they are rugged and rigid and are not sympathetic when someone dies, probably due to violence. Then, Tech N9ne comes in the last verse, reminiscing about his school days when he danced, but now it's all about the Gangsta Shap. Dancing, according to him, is deep and dirty like the crevice of your hamper. He describes himself, wearing a Nautica pair in the middle of his Nike and Air Jordan; then, he talks about how he does the Gangsta Shap, which makes it a cool dance move.
