The Autumn Offering Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Will we sit back and watch fate destroy us?
Come and take my hand, we can ride off
And watch the world die as we breathe our last breath
[Incomprehensible]
[Incomprehensible]
Will this be the end or just another dream?
Angels falling from burning skies
Hell has opened up its doors for us
Dying world
Dying world
Now can you feel the end?
Now can you see the end?
Now do you want the end?
Now do you think your God cares?
A mass suicide for all, all mankind
This is all our fault, no one will be saved
Time is running thin as I look towards the skies
I see now that this is truly the end
A mass suicide for all, all mankind
This is all our fault, no one will be saved
Time is running thin as I look towards the skies
I see now that this is truly the end
A mass suicide for all mankind
This is all our fault, no one will be saved
Time is running thin as I look towards the skies
I see now, this is the end
The lyrics to The Autumn Offering's song Beginning's End give a bleak and apocalyptic view of the world. The opening lines express a fear of death and uncertainty about the future, asking if this could be the end. The singer then suggests that they could ride off and watch the world die, perhaps indicating a desire to escape from the destruction they see around them. These lines are followed by an unclear phrase that could represent the chaos and confusion of the situation.
The second verse brings further imagery of destruction, using phrases like "darkened skies" and "angels falling from burning skies." The singer seems resigned to the idea that this could be the end of the world, as they ask if listeners can feel, see, want, or rely on a God who may or may not care about their fate. The song then ends with repeated lines about a mass suicide for all of humanity, placing blame on everyone and emphasizing the inevitability of the end.
Overall, Beginning's End presents a highly pessimistic and fatalistic view of the world, one in which destruction and death seems to be the only possible outcome. The use of vivid imagery and questions directed toward the listener help to make the song feel personal and urgent, while the repetition of key phrases makes the message more impactful.

Ask my former workmate and he would tell you that metal died after the 80s. It really depends on who you ask. Stuff like this still gets made today, you just need to seek it.
