They made a name for themselves by consistently touring over the United States. Rather than signing with a known label, they initially decided to found their own, Chunksaah Records (named after their long-time friend Timmy Chunks), but are now releasing their albums on Epitaph Records.
The Bouncing Souls are one of the best selling and longest lived of the punk bands from New Jersey, following the legacy of previously successful punk bands Adrenalin OD and the Misfits.

Never Say Die / When You're Young
The Bouncing Souls Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Living like we know there is no time
You're the heart this world could not deny
Never say die
All the emptiness we felt inside
All the ways they try to take your pride
All of this we will defy
Never say die
On a world of lies we left behind
Time has come for us to rise
Never say die
When you're young
Write your songs
Take your time
Stay strong
Hold on
Don't grow old
Hang onto your heart
Stay close to your soul
Hold on
Stand and decide
Never say die
The Bouncing Souls's song Never Say Die / When You’re Young exudes a sense of rebellion and youthfulness. It highlights the struggles and adversities that the youth are faced with when trying to find their place in the world. The song is about sticking to one's dreams and aspirations without giving in to the negative forces that try to pull us down. The lyrics, "We're the ones they couldn't keep in line, living like we know there is no time," speaks to the sense of urgency the youth feel to make a change and make their mark on the world. The lines "All the emptiness we felt inside, all the ways they try to take your pride, all of this we will defy," suggests that the youth will not let anyone or anything stop them from achieving their dreams.
The chorus of the song encourages the youth to hold onto their dreams and not grow old too fast. The lines, "When you're young, write your songs, take your time, stay strong, hold on, don't grow old, hang onto your heart, stay close to your soul, hold on, stand and decide, never say die," encourages the youth to embrace their youthfulness and stay true to themselves.
In conclusion, The Bouncing Souls's song Never Say Die / When You’re Young is an empowerment anthem for the youth to stay true to their dreams and aspirations. It encourages them to stay strong and not let anything hinder them from achieving their goals.
