The group was formed by record producer / composer, Tony Hiller, and originally featured the well-travelled vocalist, Tony Burrows. In 1970 they had a hit single with "United We Stand", which not only was a heavily played record on British radio, but also broke the American market. By the time they broke the voting record for Eurovision and sold well over one million copies of "Save Your Kisses For Me", the line up had totally changed. After Eurovision, they had a number of hits in the UK, including two more chart-toppers, but long term success proved to be elusive.
In 1992, Sandra Stevens told Eurovision Network's magazine that Brotherhood of Man had been shortlisted to sing in A Song for Europe 1983. However she said that the group changed its mind, preferring to be remembered for winning the Eurovision Song Contest as opposed to possibly losing a UK qualifying heat. However their song, "When the Kissing Stops" remained in the contest and was performed by another group, Rubic. It came sixth.
"Save Your Kisses For Me" was nominated as one of the final five finalists in the 50th anniversary Eurovision concert held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in October 2005 and was the highest placed UK song.

Save All Your Kisses For Me
The Brotherhood of Man Lyrics

It's impossible to stay
But there's one thing I must say before I go
I love You (I love you) --you know
I'll be thinking of You in most everything I do
Now the time is moving on
And I really should be gone
But You keep me hanging on for one more smile
With your cute little way
Will You promise that you'll save your
Kisses for me
Save all your kisses for me
Bye bye baby bye bye
Don't cry honey don't cry
Gonna walk out the door
But I'll soon be back for more
Kisses for me
Save all your kisses for me
So long honey so long
Hang on baby hang on
Don't You dare me to stay
Cause You know I'll have to say
That I've got to work each day
And that's why I go away
But I count the seconds till I'm home with You
I love You (I love you) --it's true
You're so cute honey -gee
Won't You save them up for me -your
Kisses for me
Save all your kisses for me
Bye bye baby bye bye
Don't cry honey don't cry
Gonna walk out the door
But I'll soon be back for more
Kisses for me
Save all your kisses for me
So long honey so long
Hang on baby hang on
Don't you dare me to stay
Cause you know
You've got to save your
Kisses for me
Save all your kisses for me
Bye bye baby bye bye
Don't cry honey don't cry
Won't You save them for me
Even though you're only three...
The lyrics to The Brotherhood of Man's song Save All Your Kisses For Me is a bubbly and upbeat love song that describes the pain of leaving someone you love but the assurance of the love that remains. The opening lines describe the difficulty of leaving someone behind, and while it is impossible to stay, the singer wants to express their love for the person, promising to think of them always. As time moves on, the singer needs to depart, but the other person's cute little ways keep them hanging on for one final smile and professes their love all the way. The singer asks their loved one to save all their kisses for them while they are apart, giving them a reason to come back home. The chorus repeats the phrase "Save All Your Kisses For Me," expressing the singer's love for their partner, but also implying the importance of affection and care in any relationship.
