Formed in 2004, The Cab consists of members Alex DeLeon (vocals), Joey Thunder (bass guitar), Chantry Johnson (lead guitar, backing vocals), and Dave Briggs (drums, percussion). They gained popularity through the music-sharing platform MySpace, where their demos and early releases attracted a growing fanbase.
In January 2006, The Cab signed to the local label Olympus Records; however, they did not release any material during this period. After they handed a demo to Panic! at the Disco's Spencer Smith and Jon Walker at a show featuring Cobra Starship, Boys Like Girls, and Cartel. Smith helped the band to sign with Decaydance Records in May 2007.
Over the years, The Cab continued to refine their sound, blending elements of pop, rock, and R&B into their music. They released EPs like "Symphony Soldier" and "Lock Me Up," further showcasing their versatility and evolving musical style.
In an interview with All Access, Alexander DeLeon stated that the band was currently going on hiatus, as he worked as a solo artist under the name Bohnes. DeLeon hinted that there could be a potential return for The Cab in the future. In January of 2020, a new song was teased on X, accompanied with an announcement of a new album in development.
Living Louder

Lay me down under the lights
Let me fall in love
Let me save a life
And let me lose my voice
Singing all my favorite songs
Let me stare up at the stars
My heart like a firework in my chest
My only regret is having regrets
Traveled the world
I loved every step
And all I know is:
No one, no one lives forever
We will be remembered
For what we do right now
And baby I'm living louder
And dreaming longer, tonight
(We're living louder, we're living louder)
And baby I'm fighting harder
And loving stronger tonight
(We're loving stronger, we're loving stronger)
'Cause we're all just kids
Who grew up way too fast
Yeah the good die young
But the great will always last
We're growing older
But we're all soldiers tonight
If today's the day I go
Gonna drink with all my friends
Gonna laugh until we cry
As we talk and reminisce
And let me kiss a stranger
And rob the local bank
Let me become real rich
So I can give it all away
'Cause no one, no one lives forever
But we will be remembered
For what we do right now
And baby I'm living louder
And dreaming longer, tonight
(We're living louder, we're living louder)
And baby I'm fighting harder
And loving stronger tonight
(We're loving stronger, we're loving stronger)
'Cause we're all just kids
Who grew up way too fast
Yeah the good die young
But the great will always last
We're growing older
But we're all soldiers tonight
When you've got your breath inside your head
Every day's a second chance
If I wake up with a beating heart
Will I stand or will I fall?
I'm living louder
Dreaming longer tonight
Baby I'm fighting harder
And loving stronger tonight
And baby I'm living louder
And dreaming longer tonight
(We're living louder, we're living louder)
And baby I'm fighting harder
And loving stronger tonight
(We're loving stronger, we're loving stronger)
'Cause we're all just kids
Who grew up way too fast
Yeah the good die young
But the great will always last
We're growing older
But we're all soldiers tonight

My biggest regret is having regrets
Traveled the world
I have explored various places
I loved every step
I enjoyed every moment of it
And all I know is:
All I know for sure is
No one, no one lives forever
No one can live forever
We will be remembered
Our impact on others will be remembered
For what we do right now
For the actions we take in the present.

But the great will always last
Truly great people will always be remembered
We're growing older
We are getting older
But we're all soldiers tonight
We are all warriors tonight
Gonna drink with all my friends
I will enjoy alcohol with good company
Gonna laugh until we cry
We will laugh so hard that we start crying
As we talk and reminisce
As we talk about and remember the past
Let me kiss a stranger
Let me take a chance on romance
And rob the local bank
Committing crimes seems exciting in the moment
Let me become real rich
To become wealthy
So I can give it all away
So I can be charitable with my wealth
When you've got your breath inside your head
When you have a clear head
Every day's a second chance
Every day offers new opportunities
If I wake up with a beating heart
If I wake up alive
Will I stand or will I fall?
Will I take the opportunity presented, or give up?
