Formed in 2004, The Cab consists of members Alex DeLeon (vocals), Joey Thunder (bass guitar), Chantry Johnson (lead guitar, backing vocals), and Dave Briggs (drums, percussion). They gained popularity through the music-sharing platform MySpace, where their demos and early releases attracted a growing fanbase.
In January 2006, The Cab signed to the local label Olympus Records; however, they did not release any material during this period. After they handed a demo to Panic! at the Disco's Spencer Smith and Jon Walker at a show featuring Cobra Starship, Boys Like Girls, and Cartel. Smith helped the band to sign with Decaydance Records in May 2007.
Over the years, The Cab continued to refine their sound, blending elements of pop, rock, and R&B into their music. They released EPs like "Symphony Soldier" and "Lock Me Up," further showcasing their versatility and evolving musical style.
In an interview with All Access, Alexander DeLeon stated that the band was currently going on hiatus, as he worked as a solo artist under the name Bohnes. DeLeon hinted that there could be a potential return for The Cab in the future. In January of 2020, a new song was teased on X, accompanied with an announcement of a new album in development.
Lovesick Fool
The Cab Lyrics

You're looking like a stranger
You were once my love and my savior
Now I'm left with nothing but your makeup
On my pillow
And I can't sleep, the pills they never helped
Tried counting sheep, still hurts like hell
And its petals
Who put that rock in your chest, won't you tell me?
If I said I wished you the best, I was lying
Waking up just brings me down (Down)
'Cause every morning you are nowhere to be found (Nowhere to be found)
And my bed is half empty not half full
I'd rather live with broken bones
Then lay here all on my own like a lovesick fool
Like a lovesick fool
Like a lovesick fool
Like a lovesick fool
Where'd you go?
You said you'll never leave me
All alone, my heart is barely beating
Like a ghost you haunt me every day that you're gone
I'm not the same
Now something went missing
There's a cage, it feels like a prison
Here, I'll stay until you come back home (Home)
Who put that rock in your chest, won't you tell me?
If I said I wished you the best, I was lying
Waking up just brings me down (Down)
'Cause every morning you are nowhere to be found (Nowhere to be found)
And my bed is half empty not half full
I'd rather live with broken bones
Then lay here all on my own like a lovesick fool
Am I a lovesick fool?
Or am I giving up?
Am I a lovesick fool?
Waking up just brings me down (Down)
'Cause every morning you are nowhere to be found (Nowhere to be found)
Waking up just brings me down (Down)
'Cause every morning you are nowhere to be found (Nowhere to be found)
And my bed is half empty not half full
I'd rather live with broken bones
Then lay here all on my own like a lovesick fool
Like a lovesick fool
Like a lovesick fool
Like a lovesick fool
The Cab's "Lovesick Fool" is a song that is full of longing and heartbreak. The opening lines, "Who are you? / You're looking like a stranger / You were once my love and my savior / Now I'm left with nothing but your makeup / On my pillow," set the tone for the rest of the song. The singer is addressing someone they used to be close to, someone who has left them feeling abandoned and alone.
The chorus repeats the idea of waking up to an empty bed, with "every morning you are nowhere to be found." The singer would rather "live with broken bones" than be alone like a "lovesick fool." This repetition of the phrase drives home how deeply the singer is hurting and how much they long for their lost love.
The bridge changes the tone of the song slightly, with the singer questioning whether they are just being a "lovesick fool" or if they should give up on the relationship altogether. It's a moment of reflection and uncertainty, before the chorus comes back in to drive home the pain and longing once more. Overall, "Lovesick Fool" is a powerful song that captures the feeling of heartbreak and the struggle to move on.
