Thank you, Rob Reiner for putting this tune into the soundtrack of Stand By Me. A lot of younger people (back in the 1980s) heard this one for the very first time because of that flick. If you're only 24 years old and you listen to this music you're lucky because most people don't even know about it if you listen to anything that was written from 1955 until 19 seventill 1970 you will have a library of the greatest music ever done in history Barry Gordy created motown which brought us the best music ever and it will never be duplicated.. What great song, remember cruising the lake front in New Orleans in the 50's when thishit the radio for first time. A very happy up tempo song. As soon as it was in the record shop we all got copies of this one! Still talk to friends that remember that day 60 years ago. What a time it was!!!!!!

Classic sound, my favorite among all of the doo wop groups. I recall getting turned on to the Del Vikings after discovering an Oldies but Goodies album in my Grandparents basement. From that very first vocal riff in, "Come Go With Me, I was magically drawn by the super cool sound. Thanks for posting!

This is a song that has followed me throughout my life. It was one of the first songs I played as a sixteen year old DJ in 1960 at teen dances. It was the first song in the preshow of a water ski show at Sea World in Orlando in 1984. Also in Sea World of Texas in 1988. Finally in 2002 at another water ski 50's show at Cypress Gardens Florida. Got to meet The Del Vikings in Orlando. Great song, wonderful memories....

This was my favorite and best of times.I turned 10 in the summer of 1957.I could roam the neighborhood at night and there was nothing to be afraid of.I could walk to the playground over a mile away and they played these rock and roll songs.I am sure this was one of them as it sounds so familiar.The teens would be dancing but I didn't care about that.I just swung on the swings and slid sown the sliding board.We didn't have Daylight Savings Time and it was dark earlier.When I walked home and I never thought about being locked out because we didn't lock our doors Nobody ever came in our house. and I was just plain happy.The Doo Wop Rock and Roll was popular and so was Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly and the Crickets and many others.I saw them on Ed Sullivan and also watched American Bandstand.I will always treasure the 1950s.

Oh what memories! This is one of the first songs that started my 45 record collection now numbering 856, most of which have been converted to CD's. This 1957 hit with its instrumentation and beat was great to fast dance to. The video portion of this You Tube display shows segments of American Bandstand back in that era and being from the Philadelphia area I recognize some of those guys&gals. Good Job John! For my own ears, this recording has a special magic that I've tried to explain for years. It really does stir up the memories, I was living on Guam when it came out and I was thrilled to hear on the snack bar juke box. I still am thrilled whenever I hear it!!

First time I heard Whispering Bells 1958, at my cousins house Wilmington, Ca. I went DOWNTOWN Long beach, ca. I bought 2 From Morris Music store on Pine and 3rd. I must have listened to it 10,000 times and it's still my favorite. 😆😆
