In 1994 the first demo "Oblivion" was released. The next year they released their first CD "Pale Awakening" for a German label. Several concerts, many contributions to various compilations and reviews in several music magazines helped the band to become known to the dark romantic music lovers.
Diego spent three years on a long musical research work. After that, durin 1997, the Italian label Eibon Records printed the band's second CD titled "Fragments of Memories".
In the year 1998 Diego co-founded a side project with Arianna called Static Movement. The musical style of Static Movement is not so different from the Frozen Autumn, but in this case only electronic instruments are used. The result was a more synthetic coldwave sound. The partnership proved fruitful for both parties and so Arianna became a permanent fixture in The Frozen Autumn line-up, Static Movement remaining their "concept research project".
Merletto has been working on his video art since 2003, which has become an integral part of the band's live shows.

Again
The Frozen Autumn Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
don't ask me why
I know the reason
inside my mind
I've no words to think, to say
I just want to dream again...
And now the rain is calling
my name in vain
I'll see no more.
I've no words to to think, to say
I just want to dream again...
this frozen autumn
can touch my hands
it is like a shadow
a breath of wind
I've no words to to think, to say
I just want to dream again...
Again...
The Frozen Autumn's song "Again" is a melancholic and introspective piece that captures the feeling of comfort in sadness. The lyrics describe a person experiencing the rain and its soothing effect. It is a symbolic representation of the person's emotional state- the rain represents the tears that they cannot express in words. Instead, they "just want to dream again." There is a yearning for a connection to the natural world that surrounds them, as they are lost in their thoughts and emotions. There is a sense of resignation and acceptance to the fact that their world will be, in a way, "frozen" and unchanging. The frozen autumn can touch their hands, and it is a mere shadow, a reminder of the beauty that is untouchable, like the flower fields they can no longer see.
The song's lyrics, while relatively straightforward, carry a lot of emotional weight. The singer's voice and the music create an ethereal, almost otherworldly atmosphere that adds to the song's contemplative nature. The lyrics serve as an invitation to enter this world and explore the emotions that many can relate to. It's a perfect song to listen to while lying in bed, watching the raindrops fall outside, and surrendering to one's thoughts.

The whole Pale Awakening album is that great. Beautiful and melancholic atmospheres, cold sound but warm vocals.

This song was my introduction to the Frozen Autumn as well, except for me it was a college radio show in the mid 90s... Feeling old now. Ha

Beautiful melody, coldware / darkware at will. Hard to believe that this song is over 25 years old when it could have been released on their last album 👍
