Come Together
The Internet Lyrics

Only in one side
Only in the wide
Girl I'm in the rush
I can't be sure
Ah, anymore
Today or tomorrow
What we've come to
They gon' get us to come together
They gon' get us to come together
They gon' get us to come together
They gon' get us to come together
I forget my pride
Stronger than your lies
Wanna get so high
Wanna live my life
I can't be sure
Not, anymore
Today or tomorrow
What we gon' do
What we gon' do
They gon' get us to come together
They gon' get us to come together
They gon' get us to come together
They gon' get us to come together
They gon' get us to come together
They gon' get us to come together
(They gon' get us to come together)
(They gon' get us to come together)
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
They gon' get us to come together
They gon' get us to come together
The song "Come Together" by The Internet is about the struggle of two individuals coming together, their internal conflicts, and the societal pressure to conform to certain standards. The lyrics "And I want those eyes, only in one side, only in the wide, girl I'm in the rush" could be interpreted as the desire to be with someone who sees things from the same perspective, but at the same time feeling rushed and overwhelmed. The line "I forget my pride, stronger than your lies, wanna get so high, wanna live my life" can be interpreted as choosing to let go of ego and the pressure to fit in with societal norms, wanting to experience the freedom and high of living life on one's own terms.
The repeated chorus "They gon' get us to come together" emphasizes the external pressure to conform and come together, but the uncertainty and internal struggles make it difficult to do so. Overall, the song explores the complexities of relationships and the difficulty of coming together amidst societal pressures and personal struggles.

I went to a Gorillaz concert recently, and The Internet was playing before them. When I was listening to them, I was like โWhat is this music that has blessed my earholes?โ It was the first time Iโve heard of them.
