Although blinded by eye cancer at the tender age of one, Jeff picked up his first guitar when he was three years-old and defied the odds and became a gifted and successful artist. He developed his own unique style of playing the guitar while it lay flat on his lap. Jeff quickly became a local guitar legend in his own right with his virtuosity. The group played around small Toronto-area clubs for a few years before eventually signing with BMG Canada and Arista Records for the rest of the world, and releasing their debut album See The Light in 1988, which featured the top charting hits "Angel Eyes" and "See The Light".
The Jeff Healey Band played and recorded Blues/Blues Rock-infused music along with many original-flavored covers. The band officially released five studio albums and one live recording including the sophomore Hell To Pay (1990), Feel This (1992), Cover To Cover (1995), Get Me Some (2000), and Live At Montreux 1999 (2005). There have also been some recent unofficial compilation releases without the consent of the artists.
Jeff and his band also performed a cameo role in the Patrick Swayze movie "Roadhouse" and they are featured in its official soundtrack.
The group split up in the late 2000, but Jeff continued performing as a solo artist and would later front Jeff Healey & The Jazz Wizards playing trumpet. He died on March 2, 2008 after a long battle with lung cancer, and is survived by his wife, Cristie, and two children.

And finally found my old blue jeans
Well, I done ran into my baby,
And finally found my old blue jeans
I knew they was mine,
By the oil and the gasoline, yeah
Well how happy could one man be?
I said, uh, if I ever get back my blue jeans,
Well, how happy can one man be?
'Cause when I get back those blue jeans,
Yeah, you know my baby,
Will bring em home to me
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
The Jeff Healey Band's "Blue Jean Blues" is a classic blues song that speaks to the relatable feeling of losing something we cherish and then finding it unexpectedly. The lyrics tell the story of the singer running into his baby and finally finding his old blue jeans, identifying them by the oil and gasoline stains. He expresses joy and excitement at the prospect of getting them back and how happy he would be to have them. The repetition of his desire for the blue jeans and describing their importance to him highlights the theme of the song, which is how small things can hold sentimental value and create a longing for their return.
The song's bluesy feel is emphasized by Jeff Healey's powerful and soulful voice, which perfectly captures the longing and passion expressed in the lyrics. The instrumental aspect of the song reinforces the somber bluesy tone. The guitar riffs, complemented by the rhythm section, create a moody, down-tempo track that adds depth to the lyrics. The straightforward, simple lyrics combined with the instrumentals give the song a relatable charm that has made it a popular classic.
