Live gigs have included Frankstock (Norfolk's best kept festival secret), a floating fireworks party on the Thames and the Firegathering festival in Surrey. Radio play includes Rick Wakeman's show on Planet Rock and Stuart Maconie's Freakzone on BBC 6Music.
A regular lineup of drums, bass, guitar and keyboard is complemented by strings, orchestral percussion, ancient analogue synthesisers, experimental sound design software, vocoders, tape loops, samplers, digeridoo, drainpipes, kitchen utensils and microphones put where microphones really shouldn't go. They claim to sound "a bit like The Orb, Orbital, Roy Orbison, Ozric Tentacles, Mogwai, Pink Floyd, The Cheeky Girls, The Flaming Lips, Led Zeppelin, Gong, Super Furry Animals and Steve Reich. Some of these are not true."
The group members also perform in other musical outfits ranging from modern jazz to Balkan brass, and these experiences feed back into their collective music-making. Their latest release is a free download remix EP, Mr. Phosphorous vs. The Jellyheads. More remixes are in the pipeline, and the constituent parts of a second proper album are lurking on various hard drives waiting to be assembled.

I like you a lot
But I'm not sure if it's meant to be or not
Yeah, you can say
Say we're together
But no one's said a word about the word forever
It's just a crush I'm feelin'
And my whole world's upside-down
It's just a crush, I know it
Don't know where we're goin'
But I'm likin' where we are right now
It's too soon to be too much
Not ready to call it love
It's just a crush
You might be
Might be the one
But let's not rush it, let's not jump the gun
Sometimes love is just an illusion
Let's make it clear, just so there's no confusion
It's just a crush I'm feelin'
Walkin' on the ceilin'
And my whole world's upside-down
It's just a crush, I know it
Don't know where we're goin'
But I'm likin' where we are right now
It's too soon to be too much
Not ready to call it love
It's just a crush
The Jellyheads' song "Crush" is a charming tune that talks about the uncertainty of a blossoming relationship. The lyrics illustrate the feeling of a developing crush towards someone, but also with the understanding that it's still too early to define it as love. The singer is stating their feelings for their partner and confessing that they like them a lot but they are apprehensive about what the future holds for them. They enjoy where they are now, but are not yet ready to define their relationship.
As the chorus explains, the singer is feeling overwhelmed and walking on the ceiling, which indicates the emotional intensity. They acknowledge that it is still too early to call their relationship love, hence the line "It's too soon to be too much, not ready to call it love, it's just a crush." The song talks about the fragility of relationships when they're just starting, and how it's essential to take your time and get to know one another instead of rushing into things. The chorus captures the essence of the song and its meaning: "It's just a crush I'm feeling, walking on the ceiling, and my whole world's upside-down. It's just a crush, I know it, don't know where we're going, but I'm liking where we are right now."
