1. The … Read Full Bio ↴There have been mat least three groups called The Originals.
1. The Originals were a successful Motown R&B and soul group during the 1960s and 1970s.
The group found modest success in the first half of the decade, often working as backup singers for recordings by artists such as Jimmy Ruffin ("What Becomes of the Broken Hearted", 1966) and David Ruffin ("My Whole World Ended (The Moment You Left Me)", 1969). The Originals found their biggest success under the guidance of Motown legend Marvin Gaye, who co-wrote and produced two of the group's biggest singles, "Baby I'm For Real", and "The Bells". Both songs became seminal soul music recordings, and both songs have since been covered: 1990s R&B group After 7 re-recorded "Baby I'm For Real" and made it a hit again in 1992, while another 1990s R&B group Color Me Badd re-recorded "The Bells" for one of their albums.
While the group went on to have more modest success in both the soul and disco fields near the end of the decade, including "Down To Love Town," a #1 dance chart hit, the songs they made with Marvin Gaye are their most memorable notable.
2. The Originals were a short-lived ska band from the United Kingdom, best known for their track 'No One Like You', which was in fact released under their previous name The Volecanoes but became best known as an Originals song. Later incarnation's of the band, led by bassist Arthur Kay, were called Arthur Kay & The Originals or Arthur Kay's Originals.
3. The Originals were an alter ego of The Champs, known for their 1958 hit Tequila,

I really needed you
God bless whoever sent you
I really needed you
You're much too beautiful
To be part of the human race
Whoever carved those features
If I put you on a pedestal
Girl, that's where you belong
I'm building my world around you
So please don't let me down
God bless whoever sent you
'Cause I really needed you
God bless whoever sent you
'Cause I really needed you
Oh, you could take a sinner
And turn him into a saint
You took a nervous a guy like me
And made me something that I ain't
Oh, my life was like a dark old room
Until you gave me your love
Now you walk upon all my thoughts
Girl, you're just too much
God bless whoever sent you
'Cause I really needed you
God bless whoever sent you
'Cause I really needed you
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Oh, did you know men get butterflies, oh, they really do
Girl, I get butterflies every time I look at you
Honey, what I find in you
I ain't find in anyone else
And if the man above
Made anything better
He kept it for himself
God bless whoever sent you
I really needed you
God bless whoever sent you
I really needed you
God bless whoever sent you
I really needed you
God bless whoever sent you
I really needed you
God bless whoever sent you
I really needed you
God bless whoever sent you
The Originals' song "God Bless Whoever Sent You" is a beautiful ode to love and gratitude for a significant other. The song starts with the singer thanking whoever sent their lover, saying that they really needed them. The singer then praises their lover's beauty and angelic features, stating that they are too beautiful to be part of the human race. The singer then declares that their lover belongs on a pedestal, and that they are building their world around them, all while hoping that they don't let them down.
The second verse of the song is about the transformative power of love. The singer states that their lover could take a sinner and turn them into a saint, and that they have done the same for them. The singer compares their life before their lover to a "dark old room," and how their lover's love has illuminated their life. The singer ends the song by once again thanking whoever sent their lover, saying that they really needed them.
Overall, the song is a heartfelt declaration of love and gratitude for a significant other. It expresses the transformative power of love and how it can change someone's life for the better.

This song has one of the best lyric lines ever written in a song. When he says "Honey what I found in you I ain't found in anyone else. And if the man above made anything better he kept it for himself. What a great lyric.
