1. The Originals were a successful Motown R&B and soul group during the 1960s and 1970s.
The group found modest success in the first half of the decade, often working as backup singers for recordings by artists such as Jimmy Ruffin ("What Becomes of the Broken Hearted", 1966) and David Ruffin ("My Whole World Ended (The Moment You Left Me)", 1969). The Originals found their biggest success under the guidance of Motown legend Marvin Gaye, who co-wrote and produced two of the group's biggest singles, "Baby I'm For Real", and "The Bells". Both songs became seminal soul music recordings, and both songs have since been covered: 1990s R&B group After 7 re-recorded "Baby I'm For Real" and made it a hit again in 1992, while another 1990s R&B group Color Me Badd re-recorded "The Bells" for one of their albums.
While the group went on to have more modest success in both the soul and disco fields near the end of the decade, including "Down To Love Town," a #1 dance chart hit, the songs they made with Marvin Gaye are their most memorable notable.
2. The Originals were a short-lived ska band from the United Kingdom, best known for their track 'No One Like You', which was in fact released under their previous name The Volecanoes but became best known as an Originals song. Later incarnation's of the band, led by bassist Arthur Kay, were called Arthur Kay & The Originals or Arthur Kay's Originals.

And mis'ry was all I knew
Trying so to keep my love from showing
All the while not knowing you loved me too
Yes, loved me in lonesome silence
Your heart filled with dark despair
Thinking love would flame in you forever
Then one day we cast away our secret longing
The raging tide we held inside would hold no more
The silence at last was broken
We flung wide our prison door
Ev'ry joyous word of love was spoken
And now there's twice as much grief
Twice the strain for us
Twice the despair
Twice the pain for us
As we had known before
And after all had been said
Here we are, my love
Silent once more
And not far, my love
From where we were before
The song "Once I Have You" by The Originals tells the story of a couple who once loved each other in silence. The singer loved their partner, but they kept it hidden from the world, not knowing that their partner loved them too. Their partner also loved them silently, not believing that their love would be reciprocated. However, one day they decided to break the silence and tell each other about their feelings. They were overjoyed and spoke of their love openly until they realized that their newfound love brought twice as much pain and despair as they had known before.
The lyrics express the tragedy of a love that is hidden and unspoken. The couple's love was so intense and passionate that it caused them great pain and suffering when they couldn't be together. The chorus of the song, "And now there's twice as much grief, twice the strain for us, twice the despair, twice the pain for us, as we had known before," highlights the turmoil that their love has caused them. The singer acknowledges that they have returned to their silence, and despite being close to each other, they are still as far apart as they were before.
Overall, "Once I Have You" is a touching and melancholic song that explores the beauty and pain of love. It highlights the importance of openly expressing one's feelings to avoid the agony of unrequited love or hidden love.
