After the production of their single "Rich Man's Holiday" in 2014, the band split. Beginning in 2016, lead singer Orion Simprini began to produce his own original music, uploaded to the band's YouTube channel as well as to Spotify and iTunes under the name Orion.
However, in 2021, the band reformed, releasing first Sugar Deluxe, a compilation of songs released prior on EPs, and a series of covers, then, from August 5th, a series of singles, culminating in the release of their studio album, Fever Dream, on October 24th.

"Heartbreaker" by The Orion Experience is a song about a heartless and manipulative person who puts upon others for their own selfishness. The lyrics signify the pain and torment an individual goes through at the hands of such a person who pretends to be loving and care but leaves them emotionally bruised and battered. The song has an upbeat pop sound, which contrasts the darker and sad lyrics.
The first verse of the song shows the singer's surprise toward the girl's cold heart and how she left him in a vulnerable position, feeling hurt and hopeless. The second verse highlights the singer's innocence and naivety and how the girl exploits it for her own benefit. The chorus repeats the term "heartbreaker" and questions the girl's motives and intentions, wishing for someone to put her down and expose her heartless nature.
