1. The most well… Read Full Bio ↴There are at least two groups called The Perishers.
1. The most well-known group is a Swedish indie rock band. The band began in 1997 composed of six members, since 2001 it has consisted of Ola Klüft (vocals, guitar), Martin Gustafson (keyboards, backing vocals), Pehr Åström (bass), and Thomas Hedlund (drums).
Although they have not had a major commercial breakthrough yet, they do have a fanbase that stretches across Europe and North America. They've had several songs appear in episodes of some popular American television programs: Grey's Anatomy, The OC, Veronica Mars, One Tree Hill, 16 and Pregnant, and Greek. Their song Sway also plays on the "College rock" station in the Sims 2. Also of note is the fact that Sarah Isaksson (Klüft's former vocal teacher) is a featured artist on their song Pills.
Since 2011, Ola Klüft has been performing solo under the name A Lanky Swede. Thomas Hedlund has been seen playing drums for Phoenix during their North American Tour.
2. The Perishers were a beat band of the 1960s, based in Liverpool, United Kingdom. Previously known as The Seftons, they released just one single, in 1968: 'How Does It Feel' b/w 'Bye Bye Baby'.
3. The Perishers are a British that has released two albums as of 2007. The band is a four-piece originally from Basingstoke but now based in London. The Perishers are: Paul Osbourne (vocals, bass), Torquil Pagdin (guitar), Spencer Chisholm (guitar) and Diff (drums).
Nothing Like You and I
The Perishers Lyrics

Together walking
Spent some time just talking
About who we were
You held my hand so
Very tightly
And told me what we
There's nothing like you and I
Nothing like you and I
There's nothing like you and I
We spent some time
Together drinking
Spent some time just thinking
About days of joy
As our hearts started
Beating faster
I recalled your laughter
From long ago
There's nothing like you and I
Nothing like you and I
There's nothing like you and I
We spent some time
Together crying
Spent some time just trying
To let each other go
I held your hand so
Very tightly
And told you what I
Would be dreaming of
There's nothing like you and I
Nothing like you and I
There's nothing like you and I
So why do I even try?
There's nothing like you and I
There's nothing like you and I
There's nothing like you and I
Nothing like you and I
There's nothing like you and I
Nothing like you and I
There's nothing like you and I
Nothing like you and I
There's nothing like you and I
Nothing like you and I
There's nothing like you and I
The lyrics to The Perishers' song "Nothing Like You and I" paint a picture of two people who have spent time together, with flashes of past memories and hopes for the future. The chorus repeats the line "there's nothing like you and I," emphasizing the unique connection the two share. Throughout the three verses, we see the progression of their relationship: walking and talking, drinking and reminiscing, crying and trying to let go. In all of these moments, they hold onto each other tightly and dream of what could be.
The theme of the song is the special bond that two individuals share, and how it can be both beautiful and painful at the same time. The bridge features the line "so why do I even try?" suggesting that despite their connection, there may be difficulties that they are facing or cannot overcome. The song ends with the repetition of the phrase "there's nothing like you and I," leaving the listener with a sense of both longing and love for this unique relationship.

It’s 2021, and I’m awake at an ungodly hour in the night—feeling restless, feeling irresponsibly sad.
But I’m back here again. And this song is still as lovely as the first time I heard it; about a decade ago.
There’s nothing quite like this song.
