The group was founded in 2004 by Puppini after she was inspired by the 2003 animated film Les Triplettes de Belleville. The Puppini Sisters' debut single, "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", is a cover of the iconic hit single by The Andrews Sisters, and although the three are not actually related, they named themselves in tribute to them.
Puppini first studied fashion design at St. Martins School of Art, and later music at Trinity College of Music where she met Mullins and Rosanna Schura, who was later replaced by Stephanie O'Brien. The Sisters are currently supported by a three-piece band featuring the talents of Blake Wilner on guitar, Peter Ibbetson on drums/percussion and Henrik Jensen on upright bass.
The Puppini Sisters won a Gold Disc for international sales of their first CD, Betcha Bottom Dollar, in 2007. According to their official website, the album reached #2 on the US Jazz Charts and #9 on the US New Artist Chart.
Their second album The Rise & Fall of Ruby Woo was released on October 15th 2007, featuring classic covers, 1940s style reworkings of contemporary music, and a selection of original compositions. According to Billboard's official website, the album peaked at #5 in the US Jazz Charts in 2008.
The Puppini Sisters' retro-styled website won the 2008 Cream of Yorkshire awards "Gold Award" for best website.

I Will Survive
The Puppini Sisters Lyrics

I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live
without you by my side
But I spent so many nights
Just thinking how you did me wrong
And I grew strong
And I learned how to carry on
from outer space
I just walked in to find you here
with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed my stupid lock
I should have made you leave your key
If I had known for just one second
you'd be back to bother me
Go on now go walk out the door
just turn around now
'cause you're not welcome anymore
weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye
you think I'd crumble
you think I'd lay down and die
Oh no, not I
I will survive
as long as i know how to love
I know I will stay alive
I've got all my life to live
I've got all my love to give
and I'll survive
I will survive
It took all the strength I had
not to fall apart
kept trying hard to mend
the pieces of my broken heart
and I spent oh so many nights
just feeling sorry for myself
I used to cry
Now I hold my head up high
and you see me
somebody new
I'm not that chained up little person
still in love with you
and so you felt like dropping in
and just expect me to be free
now I'm saving all my loving
for someone who's loving me

First I was afraid
At first, I was scared
I was petrified
I was terrified
Kept thinking I could never live
I believed that I couldn't survive
without you by my side
If you were not with me, I would not be able to live
But I spent so many nights
I spent many sleepless nights
Just thinking how you did me wrong
Only thinking about how you mistreated me
And I grew strong
But eventually, I became stronger
And I learned how to carry on
I learned how to continue living
And so you're back
Now, you have returned
From outer space
From someplace far away
I just walked in to find you here
I came back to find you here
With that sad look upon your face
You had a sad expression on your face
I should have changed my stupid lock
I should have replaced my lock
I should have made you leave your key
I should have insisted you return your key
If I had known for just one second
If only I knew that for a brief moment
You'd be back to bother me
You would come back and disturb me
Go on now go walk out the door
Leave now
Just turn around now 'cause you're not welcome anymore
Turn around because I do not want you anymore
Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye
You were the one who tried to hurt me by leaving
You think I'd crumble
You assumed I would fall apart
You think I'd lay down and die
You believed I would give up and die
Oh no, not I
But I did not do that
I will survive
I will continue living
As long as I know how to love
As long as I have love in my heart
I know I will stay alive
I will continue to survive
I've got all my life to live
I have a long life ahead of me
I've got all my love to give
I have a lot of love to give
And I'll survive
And I will continue to live
It took all the strength I had
It was challenging, but I summoned all my strength
Not to fall apart
To keep from breaking down
Kept trying hard to mend
I kept working to heal
The pieces of my broken heart
My shattered heart
And I spent oh so many nights
I spent countless nights
Just feeling sorry for myself
Feeling pity for myself
I used to cry
I used to weep
Now I hold my head up high
But now, I hold my head up high
And you see me somebody new
You now see me as someone else
I'm not that chained up little person
I am not that person who was imprisoned by love
Still in love with you
Still, I am not in love with you
And so you felt like dropping in
So, you decided to visit
And just expect me to be free
And expected me to be available
Now I'm saving all my loving
But I am reserving all my affection
For someone who's loving me
For someone who loves me in return
