Don't Think Twice It's All Right
The Seekers Lyrics
It ain′t no use to sit and wonder why, babe
If you don't know by now
An′ it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
It don't matter any how
When the rooster crows at the break of dawn
Look out your window and I′ll be gone
You′re the reason I'm trav′lin' on
Don′t think twice, it's all right
There ain′t no use in turnin' on your light, babe
There ain't no use in turnin′ on your light, babe
I′m on the dark side of the road
Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talkin′ anyway
Don't think twice, it′s all right
There ain't no use in callin′ out my name, gal
Like you never did before
There ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
I can′t hear you any more
I′m a-thinkin' and a-wond′rin' all the way down the road
I once loved a woman, a child I′m told
Gave her my heart but she wanted my soul
Don't think twice, it′s all right
I'm goin' down that long, lonesome road, girl
Where I′m bound, I can′t tell
But goodbye's too good a word, gal
So I′ll just say fare thee well
Now I ain't sayin′ you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don't mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
Don′t think twice, it's all right
Don't think twice, it′s all right
Don′t think twice, it's all right

Don`t Think Twice, It`s All Right
It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe,
It don't matter, anyhow.
And it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe,
If you don't know by now.
When the rooster crows at the break of dawn,
Look out your window and I'll be gone
You're the reason I'm travelin' on,
Don't think TWICE it's all right.
It ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe,
Light I never know'd
It ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe,
I'm on the dark side of the road.
Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay,
We never did too much talkin' anyway,
Don't think TWICE it's all right.
I'm walkin' down that long, lonesome road, babe,
Where I'm bound, I can't tell
But goodbye is too good a word gal,
So I'll just say "fair-thee-well"
I ain't saying you treated me unkind,
You could uh done better, but I don't mind
You just sorta wasted my precious time,
Don't think TWICE it's all right.
It ain't no use in callin' out my name gal,
Like you never did before
It ain't no use in callin' out my name gal,
Oh I can't hear you anymore.
I'm a thinkin' and a wonderin' all the way down the road
I once loved a woman, a child I'm told,
I gave her my heart but she wanted my soul,
So don't think TWICE it's all right.

This arrangement is masterful and the harmonies are inspired. Would love to have been there when they were deciding how to put this beauty together.
Charles Moore
Great old song! I like all the versions: Dylan (the writer), Peter, Paul & Mary, The Seekers, just a great song for harmonies! Thanks for sharing!
Tor Ole Rønning
The Seekers is a fantastic Group!
David Menzd
I agree..peter,Paul and Mary were great, but Judith Durham's voice with those harmonies are best ever!
Jeffrey Kaufmann
Tor Ole Rønning I think they are better than Peter Paul and Mary .Judith's voice is better than Mary's.
Jim Nesta
It's great hearing Judith doing vocal harmony, rather than the lead vocal I'm used to hearing her do. She does a great job on this song.

Once again, great harmony. Good easy listening song sung by the Seekers.

Ah -- glorious memories of singing 3- or 4-part harmony with our guitars back in dormitory days. . . most of our "repertoire" was Seekers; Peter, Paul and Mary; Kingston Trio; early Dylan, and lots of country & western
John Jarou
nice version. never heard it before now. i was familiar with the peter paul and mary and bob dylan versions.
