[1] The O.C. Supertones (a.k.a. The Supertones) were a Christian ska band hailing from Orange County, California. The O.C. stands for Orange County and was formally used to differentiate them from another group, but they generally were referred to as The Supertones by fans and publicity, especially as of their second album. The band was formerly signed to Tooth & Nail Records before becoming an independent band for its final tour. Beginning with a more traditional ska sound, the Supertones moved next to a harder rock sound, which eventually changed again with more of a pop-rock influence.
The band began in the early 1990s as Saved. Originally formed by Matt Morginsky, Jason Carson and Tony Terusa while in Junior High School, the band played a mix of many styles including punk, rap, metal, disco, and funk. In 1995 they formed as The Orange County Supertones and settled on a ska based sound.
In the late 1990s The Supertones achieved wide popularity in the Christian and secular community. Their second album, 1997's release Supertones Strike Back, was a surprise smash hit, peaking on both Billboard's Heatseekers and Top Christian Albums charts at 3 and 2 respectively. Beginning with a more traditional ska sound, The Supertones moved next to a harder rock sound, which eventually changed again with more of a pop-rock influence. Their next two albums, 1999's Chase the Sun and 2000's Loud and Clear, each charted on the Billboard 200 chart. They continued to release albums until 2005, at which point they went on indefinite hiatus. This ended when they reunited for some shows in 2010. Since then they have had stints in 2012 and 2017, performing various reunion and anniversary shows. Their 2017 commemoration of the 20th anniversary of their most well-received album "Supertones Strike Back" was presented as a definitive "final show".
[2] The Supertones are an "instrumental surf" band from NYC active since 1988. They have released at least 12 albums.

The Supertones Lyrics

To tell the truth real
The music hits your head and chest
And now you know the deal
Given the dream when I turned nineteen
And the last four years we've been playing to whoever
The six of us together headed out to wherever
Four years older, twenty three wiser
We ain't everything that we're cracked up to be
Down with the king like jay and run dmc
Step on the stage, move the groove steadily
Keep our heads on and splurge the word readily
Chorus:
Another night, another show
My whole soul's fired up and ready to go
(repeat)
No wait, don't turn away
There's something I must say
If god's not glorified
We shouldn't be here today
'cause if we ain't speaking christ
We ain't speaking nothing
Look into my eyes and
You tell me if I'm bluffing
From here on out we're going all out light it up with no doubt
Evangelize and edify that's what we're all about
Don't know what God has in store
But that's the way we're headed
With the pedal to the floor
The Supertones's song Another Show is an upbeat anthem dedicated to the joy and exhilaration of performing music. The lyrics reflect on the experience of being on stage and the energy that is generated when the music takes hold of the audience. The lead vocalist expresses his love for the feeling of telling the truth through music, as the sound reverberates through the head and chest. The lyrics also make note of the band's journey, from being given a dream at nineteen years old to playing shows all over the place. The band members are now twenty-three years old and wiser, but still not tired of "going off like a geyser." They are aware that they are not everything they are "cracked up to be," but they are resolute in their commitment to their art, regardless.
The chorus of Another Show is an enthusiastic declaration of the band's excitement about performing, with the repeated refrain, "Another night, another show. My whole soul's fired up and ready to go." The lyrics, however, take a sharper turn, with a reminder that the reason the band is able to perform is that their music is glorifying God. The lead singer cautions that they should not be there if God is not being glorified, stating that "if we ain't speaking Christ, we ain't speaking nothing." The band is committed to their audience, and the lead singer implores listeners to look into his eyes and determine for themselves if he is bluffing. The song ends on a hopeful note, with the band acknowledging that they do not know what God has in store, but they are determined to keep moving forward, "with the pedal to the floor."
