They were formed in 1973 and are still releasing records today. Their lineup has changed over the years, as has their musical style, although it has not strayed too far from the "roots reggae" style that they are generally categorized as.
With Dean Pond in the touring lineup (Dean Pond, founder of Dub Mystic and one time musical director and drummer for Culture, and V.I. producer of the year) this year (??) should prove to be even bigger for Third World.

Now that we found love what are we gonna do with it?
Make natty shook, make natty shook
Make natty shook, make natty shook
Make natty shook, shook, shook, shook all over the place
I say, come on, baby, when the music's playin'I wanna see you dance, dance, dance
Come on, baby
Said, when the music's playin'
I wanna see you dance, get up and dance
Move yeah, I said move, yeah
I said come on, baby
Let me show you what a, what a man can do
I said music, whoa, yeah
It's there sewn into my soul
Moving all day long (to the rhythm doop doop doo-doo-day)
Now that we found love what are we gonna do with it?
(What are we gonna do tell me, tell me what are we gonna do with love?)
Now that we found love what are we gonna do with it?
Let's give love a try
Let Jah control, control your destiny
We owe it to ourselves, yes, we do
To live happy, eternally
Sweet love is what we've been searchin' for
And love is what we're lookin' for
Yeah, now that I've got it right here in my hand
I'm gonna spread it all over the land
Now
Now that we found love what are we gonna do with it?
Now that we found love what are we gonna do with it?
Now that we found love what are we gonna do with it?
You've got to forgive and forget
Let hate, let hate be your enemy
Bow to the Lord
And only love will set your spirit free
Whoa, love is what we've been searchin' for
And sweet love is what we're lookin' for
Now that I got it right here in my hand
We're gonna share it all over the land
Now that we found love tell me what we gonna do with it?
I really like to know, whoa, tell me now
Now that we found love what are we gonna do with it?
Now that we found love what are we gonna do with it?
Now that we found love what are we gonna do with it?
Now that we found love what are we gonna do with it?
The lyrics of Third World's song 'Now That We Found Love' talk about the discovery of love and the question of what to do with it. The repetition of the song's title creates emphasis on the significance of finding love and the challenge that comes along with it. The song suggests that love should be celebrated and shared, that lovers should dance, move, and spread love all over the land. The line "Let Jah control your destiny" acknowledges the importance of spirituality in a relationship.
The phrase "make natty shook" in the chorus is a reference to the Jamaican term "natty dread," which refers to a Rastafarian who has not cut his hair. The term became popular in the 1970s with the emergence of reggae music, and it is a reference to the hairstyle of Rastafarians. The phrase "shook, shook, shook" is a nod to James Brown's song "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag," where he shouts, "come on, get up, and shake your money maker."
The song was originally recorded by a Philadelphia-based group called The O'Jays in 1978. Third World's version, which was released in 1979, became their biggest hit and reached number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The South Beach Mix, released in 1996, is a remix of the original song.

Well fellow funksters and funksterettes, if you are of a certain age like me, you will probably remember this funky song when it first came out. This was a song that we all loved in the various discos and clubs that we frequented. It is one of those songs that is timeless. So all you funksters, get on that dance floor and boogie.

Yes A remake of an old O'jays classic. Third World's version ripped the charts and blew the world over....And even inspired a later version of the song by Rapper Heavy D in the 90s. (Also a great rendition, that one) 💥💥🔥🔥🔥
