Stables has been turning heads in all the right places since 2003: a first album Krülle Bol produced by John Parish , singles (Two Wooden Spoons) released by Rob da Bank’s label Sunday Best and a long-awaited second album on Dreamboat Records in 2010. Wriggle out the Restless was born out of a new, slower way of working. Gestated over a long period the album has drawn on This Is The Kit’s many musical friends (Rozi Plain [[label]Fence ], Jim Barr [of Portishead ] Francois [Fence] and The Liftmen [[label]Twisted Nerve]) to fill out their delicate music into a full, robust sound. “The aim was to have fun playing with people who’s work I really like” says Kate “the more you exchange and share with people the better things get and the more you learn.”
This Is The Kit perform regularly as a two-piece with Stables on vocals, guitar and banjo, and Vernon on violin, guitar, bass and percussion.

Shared Out
This Is the Kit Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
If we have
A certain amount
Some more than others
Some of it hidden
Maybe she's got all of mine
Mostly when she sleeps
Mostly when she breathes
Mostly when she breathes
Mostly on my cheek
In This Is the Kit's song Shared Out, the singer reflects on the concept of sharing emotions and experiences within a relationship. She wonders if they have enough to go around, if they are evenly distributed, or if one person is carrying more than their share. The imagery of some being "hidden" suggests that not everything may be out in the open in the relationship, and there may be some deeper emotions or thoughts that each person is holding onto.
The line "Maybe she's got all of mine" implies that the singer may have given more of her emotions or vulnerabilities to her partner, while the following lines suggest that her partner may offer her comfort and support in return. The repetition of "mostly" highlights the subtle moments of love and caring that happen in everyday life, such as when her partner breathes or speaks, which are often taken for granted but are essential to a strong connection.
Overall, the song expresses a sense of appreciation for the small moments of intimacy in a relationship and a desire for equality in emotional support.
