Roses for No Reason
Three of Hearts Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Don't need a man who can hand me diamonds and pearls
Takes more than that to satisfy this kind of girl
If it's not from the heart
I'll do without it
Let me tell you what I'm talking about
It's

Roses for no reason
Valentines out of season
More than three wishes
Telephone kisses
One night to remember
January through December
All of the above
'Nother lesson in love

Show me a man who demands real love every day
Late-night romancing
Dancing out in the rain
Well that's what it takes if you want my loving
Baby it's all or nothing

Roses for no reason
Valentines out of season
More than three wishes
Telephone kisses
One night to remember
January through December
All of the above
'Nother lesson in love

I want the brass ring
I wanna reach out and win
I want the whole thing
?? and porch swing
And someone I can give

Roses for no reason
Valentines out of season
More than three wishes
Telephone kisses
One night to remember
January through December
All of the above
'Nother lesson

Roses for no reason
Valentines out of season
More than three wishes
Telephone kisses
One night to remember
January through December
All of the above
'Nother lesson in love

Oh oh
'Nother lesson in love

Oh oh
All I want is love

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Three of Hearts' song "Roses for No Reason" express the desire for genuine love and affection rather than materialistic gestures. The song pushes against the societal norm of giving extravagant gifts like diamonds and pearls to please someone. The singer states that she is not impressed by such things and that for her, real love stems from the heart. She wants a man who can show her real love every day and who is willing to do things like dance in the rain and be there for her in every situation. The singer also wants a man who is ready to give her everything, including himself because all she wants is love.

The chorus of "Roses for No Reason" highlights everyday moments and gestures that show true love and affection. The song desires the small things like getting roses for no reason, celebrating Valentine's day out of season, having more than three wishes, telephone kisses, sharing one unforgettable night, and experiencing love throughout the entire year. All of these represent a 'lesson in love' that the singer can learn from. The last verse is a vow from the singer that she wants something real, something she can cherish in the long run. She wants to have the perfect picture of life being complete with 'brass rings, winning, porches, and porch swings'. The lyrics of the song convey that true love is not superficial, and it takes going beyond the norm to show that level of commitment, passion, and affection.

Sherilyn Fenn foi a mulher mais linda do mundo quando ela fez esse filme.❤

@TheRhuen

It looks like the movie is actually taking this scenario seriously, in not a complete parody as some might. Good for them.

@michaelcarvalhosilva1565

Sherilyn Fenn was the most beautiful woman in the world when she made this film.❤

@Amandaaks36

Loved the part of William when he's talking in his sexy voice and I see his strong legs and talking about the ice. Smiled from ear to ear. And the cab should have stopped! There's no way that crazy woman would have caught the cab in heels. Because the woman in the cab wants William even though it didn't end that way! Not unless it was re-written!

@kungblao

HOly shit...i'm going through a similar situation...holy fucking shit.

@kungblao

THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING!

@violetpair

Why the three useless homophobic fangirl comments, one wasn's enough?

@Amandaaks36

No one can catch a cab in heels. I hate when women get mean at men. And I definitely don't like the women on women, but I would absolutely watch this to see William.

@Amandaaks36

So hate lesbian stuff, but love William. Loved watching him in the tub and hearing him say the word, "honey". "You got alot of style." I think William has alot of style.
