Show You The Way
Thundercat Lyrics
Let me show you, show you the way
On the edge of darkn there's a brightest light
A burning one, on the edge of dark
Where no one can tell their worlds apart
We'll live with dark, just take the ride
It's your boy, Thundercat
Heavy-hearted, a lover ends life
I just wanna live, learn how to fight
Sink or swim, I'm not scared to die
Tell 'em how you feel, Kenny
Kenny Loggins
Your heart is struggling, baby
Trying to believe that there might be something you just couldn't see
But what if I told you that it's all so easy
Let me show you, show you the way
On the edge of darkness there's a brightest light
A burning one, on the edge of darkness
Where no one can tell their worlds apart
We'll live with dark, just take the ride
Ladies and gentleman, Michael McDonald
Wake up and dream
Tell the wall before you believe there might not be a truth
As long love lies waiting
Just hold your face into the light
Though right now you might not know why
As long as love lies waiting
There ain't no other way, baby
Let me show you, show you the way
On the edge of darkness there's a brightest light
A burning one, on the edge of dark
Where no one can tell their worlds apart
We'll live with dark, just take the ride

He is part of this new generation of jazz literate / hip-hop loving instrumentalists, who can play beyond traditional limits - a mutant jazz cat - and, that’s how 'Thundercat' (a monicker he chose), suits him well (even if it’s purely the result of an unhealthy cartoon addiction, dating back to childhood).

[Chorus: Thundercat]
Let me show you, show you the way
On the edge of dark there's the brightest light
A burning light on the edge of dark
Where no-one can tell they’re worlds apart
We'll live with dark, just take the ride
[Break: Thundercat]
It's your boy, Thundercat
[Verse 1: Thundercat]
Heavy-hearted, but my burden's light
I just wanna live, and learn how to fly
When it's all over, breathe into the light
Sink or swim, I'm not scared to die
[Break: Thundercat]
Tell 'em how you feel, Kenny
Kenny Loggins
[Verse 2: Kenny Loggins]
Your heart is struggling, baby
Trying to believe
That there might be something you just couldn't see
But what if I told you babe
It’s all so easy
[Chorus: Thundercat]
Let me show you, show you the way
On the edge of dark there's the brightest light
A burning light, on the edge of dark

[Verse 3: Michael McDonald]
Wake up and dream, tear down the wall
Of all you believe that might not be true
Long as love lies waiting there
Just hold your face into the light
Though right now you might not know why
Long as love lies waiting
They ain’t know our way, baby
[Chorus: Thundercat]
Let me show you, show you the way
On the edge of dark there's the brightest light
A burning one, on the edge of dark
Where no-one can tell they’re worlds apart
We'll live with dark, just take the ride
[Outro: Thundercat]
Hey, how's it going? This is your boy, Thundercat. If you're going to fill your water bottle with vodka, always make sure you have a friend with a bottle that actually has water in it

My Wife lost her battle with cancer in January of this year. I happened across this video a few days later and cried like a baby, watching it numerous times over the next few weeks. I feel a little better now and I owe it in part to this song.

@Mark Mullins I’m glad you’re doing well man, music is one of the greatest healing tools there is. Happy for you brother!

@anT Thank you, time has helped as well as music. Shortly after she passed, I pulled out the guitars I hadn't had time to play and started practicing like crazy. Eventually, a year or so later, I was able to start composing again and soon I hope to post some music on here. She's been my inspiration the whole way through.

Hope you're doing well brother. I hope time has helped heal some of those wounds.
