In terms of repertoire, Trio Rococo has always presented ground-breaking new interpretations and exhibited creativity within a number of musical genres. Trio Rococo has in their unique style created completely personal musical fantasies based on the music of Chick Corea, Quincy Jones, Paul Simon, Brian Wilson and Lennon/ McCartney.
With the CD "Classical Mystery Tour - Trio Rococo plays Beatles", Trio Rococo attained not just international recognition as one of the leading classical/rhythm fusion ensembles in the World, but also won the praise of the Beatles’ own producer, George Martin, and placed itself on the Classical Crossover chart in the American magazine "Billboard", the only Danish ensemble to ever have done so, and in Denmark Trio Rococo has been the first classical group to receive a Gold Award.
Trio Rococo’s CD "FRIENDS" was released in October 1996, with music by Paul Simon, Brian Wilson and Niels Eje. On this CD, Trio Rococo again expands the limits for the musical potential of the instruments and introduces new, exciting combinations of the trio’s instruments with modern sample and synthesizer sounds, forming a completely new expression which has already attracted extensive international interest.

Day Tripper
Trio Rococo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
For taking the easy way out
Got a good reason
For taking the easy way out now
She was a day tripper
One way ticket, yeah
It took me so long to find out
And I found out
She's a big teaser
She took me half the way there
She's a big teaser
She took me half the way there, now
She was a day tripper
One way ticket, yeah
It took me so long to find out
And I found out
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
Tried to please her
She only played one night stand
Tried to please her
She only played one night stand, now
She was a day tripper
Sunday driver, yeah
It took me so long to find out
And I found out
Day tripper, day tripper, yeah
Day tripper, day tripper, yeah
Day tripper, day tripper, yeah
The song "Day Tripper" by Trio Rococo talks about a woman who is a day tripper, which implies that she is not looking for anything more than a casual and brief relationship. The singer of the song initially had a good reason for taking the easy way out with her, possibly because he didn't have to invest too much time, effort, or emotion into the relationship. However, as he starts to get to know her, he realizes that she's playing games with him, always being a big teaser and taking him halfway there before dropping him. Essentially, she only wants one night stands, and it took the singer a while before he found out about her ways.
The use of "day tripper" in the song has a double entendre – it alludes to drug use in addition to short, casual relationships. Additionally, the repetition of "day tripper" in the chorus along with the use of "yeah" give it a catchy and memorable quality. The song is driven by the guitar riff, and the simple lyrics allow the listener to focus on the melody and beat.
