Were peoples little demons go to run and hide
You know, you know, it show, it shows, it shows
Maybe I can hide a little longer so nobody knows
You know what to do it will destroy you
You know you gotta kill it boy
Don't you mess around it will bring you down
It comes and then it goes
(?) maybe (?) then I'm gone
And anything is, it's true, it's true, it's true, whoo-oooh
You know what to do it will destroy you
You know you gotta kill it boy
Don't you mess around it will bring you down
You know you gotta kill it boy
You know what to do it will destroy you
You know you gotta kill it boy
Don't you mess around it will bring you down
You know you gotta kill it boy
The lyrics to Ty Segall's song "It" deal with the concept of inner demons and the struggle to keep them at bay. The first few lines discuss how these demons come from deep within and are difficult to contain. The singer is aware of their presence and tries to hide them from others, but knows that eventually they will be exposed. The chorus urges the listener to confront these demons and destroy them before they cause harm.
The second verse adds to the theme, stating that these demons come and go, but when they are present, they can be overwhelming. The line "And anything is, it's true, it's true, it's true, whoo-oooh" suggests that the person is in a vulnerable state when these demons are present, and anything negative that might exacerbate the issue could be true.
Overall, the lyrics to "It" are a call to action to face one's inner demons before they wreak havoc. The repeated urging to "kill it" reinforces the idea that these negative feelings and thoughts need to be removed completely in order for the person to move forward.
