In 2008, the band signed to Ferret Records, who would then re-release The Awakening as an EP. In 2009, they released their second album, Forfeit Misfortunes on Ferret Records, which garnered mixed reviews due to the and straying away from their original deathcore sound, as this album was more metalcore. The band was scheduled to tour with Impending Doom, Carnifex, Miss May I, Conducting the Grave, and Molotov Solution, but the band had to drop the tour, even going as far as disbanding, due to medical concerns regarding their vocalist, Harrison DeGrote.
As of 2023, however, the band have reformed and released their newest single after 14 years.

The next verse goes deeper as the lyricist seems frustrated because the others ignore the warnings he is shouting through the trials. However, even after he warns them, they do not seem to take heed of his advice, and they believe that time heals all wounds. Finally, with open eyes, they will witness the consequences of their actions. It's possible to interpret the song's message as a warning against dishonesty and hiding one's demons. It touches on the importance of being truthful to those we love, as the consequences of lying can be catastrophic.
