You've gotta keep on dancing
Dance dance dance
You've gotta keep on
Really ? you're bad news
I don't think I can hear it any more
No more blues
If you will I'll walk
Right out the door
It's from the first touch
Of morning light
My feet can't wait to hit the floor
'Cause all I wanna do is
Dance dance dance
Sure there's times when
I've been feeling down
But the blues are never here to stay
Just by putting an my moving shoes
I dance my troubles right away
I warned you so, right or wrong
Anything to keep my heart alive
'Cause all I wanna do is
Dance dance dance
It's a jumping jive my way
Around the world
And you'll always see
A smile upon my face
The rhymin' times
I don't think they'll matter
I can make my home almost any place
The lyrics to Uriah Heep's song "Dance Dance Dance" express a powerful message of resilience, positivity, and self-preservation through the act of dancing. The repeated chorus of "Dance dance dance, you've gotta keep on dancing" serves as a reminder to keep moving forward and embracing the joy and release that comes with dancing. It suggests that dancing is not only a physical act but also a metaphor for perseverance and determination in the face of challenges.
The lyrics also touch upon the theme of not letting negativity and bad news bring you down. The singer rejects the idea of being played by the blues and instead chooses to walk away from anything that threatens their peace of mind. This refusal to be weighed down by despair is symbolized by the urge to keep dancing, as if to shake off any lingering negativity and embrace a more positive outlook on life.
The mention of the first touch of morning light and the excitement to hit the dance floor conveys a sense of anticipation and eagerness to start each day with a renewed sense of purpose and energy. The act of dancing becomes a ritual of joy and release, a way to leave behind any troubles or sorrows and simply immerse oneself in the moment, finding solace in movement and music.
The final verses emphasize the transformative power of dancing, how it can uplift the spirit and create a sense of home and belonging no matter where one may be. The singer finds solace and joy in dancing, regardless of external circumstances or challenges, and sees it as a way to navigate through life with a smile on their face. Ultimately, "Dance Dance Dance" is a celebration of resilience, inner strength, and the ability to find happiness and peace through the simple act of dancing.
