1. Vanessa L. Williams - American singer and actress.
2. Vanessa R. Williams - American gospel music singer.
1. Vanessa Lynn Williams (born 18 March 1963 - Tarrytown, New York, U.S.) is an American R&B/pop/theatrical singer and actress. In 1983, Williams made history when she became the first woman of known African descent to be crowned Miss America. Her regime as Miss America came to an early and abrupt end when she resigned her title under pressure when Penthouse published nude pictures of her that Hugh Heffner, publisher of Playboy, said he turned down because "they clearly weren't authorized" and that publication of surprise nude pictures without her consent "would be the source of considerable embarrassment to her."
However, she has since gone on to a successful entertainment career. Williams secured a record deal, and released her debut album, The Right Stuff. The first single, Dreamin', was a chart success, and the album reached gold status and earned her three Grammy Award nominations, including one for Best New Artist.
In addition to "Dreamin'", her most notable chart successes have included the songs Running Back To You, Love Is, The Sweetest Days, Colors of the Wind, The Comfort Zone, Just For Tonight, and Oh How The Years Go By. Her biggest hit to date is Save the Best For Last, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks from March 21 to April 18, 1992. In total, Williams has sold six million records and received fifteen Grammy Award nominations.
In 2005, Williams released her eighth studio album, Everlasting Love, a collection of covers of her favorite 1970s songs.
Vanessa made her comeback in 2006 in the US hit series Ugly Betty in the role of Wilemina Slater. She also made a cameo appearance as a sports journalist in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, where she gave birth, the baby being delivered by Will Smith.
She's also been seen in a few episodes of Desperate Housewives Season 7; she then joined the cast and remained a series regular until the show ended in 2012.

Work To Do
Vanessa Williams Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I got so much work to do, work, work
Oh, come on work me baby, come on home, oh
Come on work me baby, oh
I'm taking care of business, baby can't you see
I've gotta make it for you and gotta make it for me
Sometimes it seems boy I'm neglecting you
I got so many things to do
Oh, I, I got work to do
I got work baby
I got a job baby
I got work to do
Said I got work to do
Oh, I'm out here trying to make it
Baby can't you see
It takes a lot of money to make it
Let's talk truthfully
So keep your love light burnin'
Oh, you've gotta have a little faith
You might as well get used to me
Coming home a little late
Oh, I can't wait to get home to you
I got so much work to do,
Work, work, baby, work, work
Oh, I can't wait to get home to you
I got so much work to do,
Work, work, baby, work, work
I got a v-a-n-e-double s-a
She's out to give a scene
We used to eat together
Now it's candlelight tv
But woman, work it out, 'till the job's done
Cause it's not the one to flip on his dip, double or one
So I come to your buns like a frankfurter
Accepted in more circles than a shot putter
I suppose you, I surely support you
'Till the course another fader
You're off to work I can dig it -- later
Oh, I, I got work to do
I got work baby
I got a job sugar
I got work to do
Oh, I can't wait to get home to you
I got so much work to do,
Work, work, baby, work, work
Oh, I can't wait to get home to you
I got so much work to do,
Work, work, baby, work, work
Oh, I can't wait to get home to you
I got so much work to do,
Work, work, baby, work, work
Vanessa Williams's song, "Work To Do," is a song about a relationship where the singer is busy with work, but still longs to come home to their partner. The chorus repeats the phrase "work, work, baby, work, work," conveying the idea that the singer has a lot of work to do, but also that their partner is someone they need to work with to make the relationship function. The song explores the tension that arises when someone is busy with work and cannot give their relationship the attention they might like.
The first verse establishes this idea of a work-life balance, with the singer seeming to be aware that they are neglecting their partner due to work responsibilities. However, they assert that they are "taking care of business" for both of them. The second verse delves deeper into the financial pressures that the singer is facing, with the line "It takes a lot of money to make it" emphasizing the difficulties of modern life. The bridge brings in a new voice, with the rapper referencing his own relationship and support for his partner.
Overall, "Work To Do" is a nostalgic love song that showcases Vanessa Williams's voice and ability to convey complex emotions through lyrics.
