@@lonnietoth5765 WWI was not needed, Imperial Germany was not Nazi Germany, they were the most advanced state in the world and the British Empire and France were afraid of the competition, so that they turned an insignificant regional conflict between Serbia and the Habsburgs into a horrible war that killed millions and directly caused the Armenian Genocide, Nazism, the communist revolution in Russia and thus the horrors of WWII. The united States became involved in the war because the parasites on Wall Street and the Industrial Robber Barons were allies with the British aristocracy and equally parasitic banking cabal in the City of London and had a profit motive for crushing Germany, even if it meant millions dead.

Nazism was a response to the threat of communism and the humiliating conditions imposed by the entente, meaning that the blood of WWII including Auschwitz is on the Western powers. Korea was a pointless war where Western boys were sent to die for a country across the world in a war that wouldn't have happened if the United States had not provoked Japan into a war.

Many people don't seem to realize that:

A) Pearl Harbor was a legitimate attack on a target, not some terrorist actions.

B) It was in response to America, Britain and their colonies trying to starve Japan through embargo. That's a legitimate casus belli

My 99 year old Dad served in the 12th Armored Division in France and Germany. He was a forward observer and tank driver. I have always been very proud of his service.

@ridgerunner106

I've got an old one still around too. Great uncle to me.

@duaneelsbree3460

Thank him for me.

@scottemmer3301

You should be extremely proud. And feel lucky that you still have him.

@paulineyao7139

We are all proud of him. A true hero.

@kurtb8474

God bless our dads, huh? Mine would be nearly 101 now. He went to the South Pacific as an Army Medic. Got wounded in action. He survived to have 7 kids and passed at age 70.

This is one of my favorite WWll movies. Love how it shows the perspectives of the Americans and Germans and not just one of them.

@John-ih2bx

Likewise. Of course I don't know how accurate the movie is. Everyone is too clean to be realistic, the equipment used couldn't be from 1945. Ok, M1, M1 Carbines, BARs. etc. haven't changed much ... but that isn't the point. Typical drama between the higher echelon and the lower-level officers and enlisted ... expected. But it was entertaining. I also like Kelly's Heroes.

@CrossOfBayonne

It's just like the longest day which one of the same actors is in this one

@@John-ih2bx Clean? Pretty much all the lower rank members of both sides look like they haven't bathed in weeks.
