Now you know, how it goes
Feeling like a child who need a friend
Here we go, here we go again
Now I'm running in a circle
Wanting to be free again
Take a step forward, I take a step back
Why can't I just move on
I burnt out
But I think I'm ready to turn this around
And I sing loud
That I think I'm ready to turn this around
Turn x4
Feeling like something's left behind
Even though the sun always shines doesnt mean you feel warm inside
Life is just a picture in your mind
Don't let it go
Dont let it go
Now I'm running in a circle
Wanting to be free again
Take a step forward, I take a step back
Don't know what it is I'm doing so wrong
Why can't I just move on
I burnt out
But I think I'm ready to turn this around
And I sing loud
That I think I'm ready to turn this around
Turn x4
Turning around the reasons
Changing time and seasons
I burnt out
But I think I'm ready to turn this around
And I sing loud
That I think I'm ready to turn this around
Vera Blue’s song Turn is about the struggles of growing up and feeling lost. The lyrics suggest that the singer has been running in circles, wanting to be free again and move on but not knowing how. Feeling like they are stuck in the same place, the singer is seeking a way to turn things around and find a new direction.
The first verse of the song speaks to the listener’s experience of growing up, learning from mistakes, and feeling like they need a friend to guide them through life’s transitions. The second verse speaks to the feeling of being left behind and the importance of not letting go of one’s dreams or ambitions. The recurring chorus "Turn" represents the singer’s ambition to turn their life around and make changes for the better.
The song's message is one of hope and resilience, of acknowledging your past and moving forward with a renewed sense of purpose. Ultimately, the song is about finding the courage to overcome one's struggles and embrace change.
