Does the iCloud motion recording include the moments before the motion? Or only once it has detected the motion? I know it is not continuous recording (sadly). But had Arlo cameras and by the time it was recording, the object was nearly out of frame.

So my problem is I live HomeKit but when I got my camera set (Ring) there isn’t much that supports HomeKit now thinking about changing but can the Logitech Circle be plugged up to a Solar power panel for power(charge)? If not there aren’t very many choices if you don’t have plug ins near where you want it mounted (outside) any opinion or recommendations would be helpful I will subscribe to you. Having problems with my Circle View. On original set up it wasn't recording any videos. On restarting the HomePod mini I used as the hub it did restart recording. Recording then stopped working. A restart of the HomePod mini brought it back (but lot videos from 5 days previous). Not great for a security solution.

Bought this camera yesterday and I’m having a nightmare getting it setup. Adding to HomeKit I just get a ‘not found’ error after it’s looking for the camera for ages. Tried everything to get it to work and nothing :(

The biggest oversight here seems to be that they haven't released a waterproof extension. They advertise this for outdoor use but so far don't seem to plan on releasing any accessories.

How do the recorded clips look as far as catching the full event since they’re motion triggered? I had the Arlo system originally and you always missed the first little bit before it started recording so it was almost useless. I switched to the Nest system because of the continuous recording for that reason. I’m debating going all in on the HomeKit system but the only recording motion feature could prevent that if it’s similar to the Arlo.

Hello there, very good review. Quick question, if i wanted to locate the camera inside my house on the windowsill pointing outside, would the motion sensor still work through the glass? Or would the camera be able to stream and record on the 10 day loop already used when motion detection is enabled?

Thanks Jon, can you turn off the blue light ? I ve got camera status light switches off on the home app, but the blue light remains on. This was not the case with the circle 2 camera, you could turn it off.

Will this camera tie up my bandwidth? I have 20mb download speed, which is the fastest available in my area. If I kit out the exterior of the house with these, I'm worried it will slow everything down.

Great video! A couple of point though. The cable cannot be disconnected because that connection needs to be waterproof. No USB format is waterproof. Also it uses USB-A for cost. The cable only supplies power. Since there is no video signal USB-C is overkill.

Hi. I’m hoping you can help me. I bought this camera based on your review, and since I got it I’ve been in false detection notification Hell. I can’t find a way to turn down the sensitivity. I did some research and others are complaining of the same thing. Do you know if there is a way to fix this? I want to be notified of detections but not false ones. I had the camera stare at a wall, and it still reports false detections.

Can the privacy button on the back not be disabled? If the camera is mounted outside what stops you standard intruder from pushing the button and pinching all you stuff?

No it cannot. But a couple of points. A camera will never stop your stuff from getting stolen. The other point you should always mount a camera out if reach anyway

Different cameras with different capabilities. If you need facial recognition then Netatmo is the one. If you don’t it’s a hard call.

However Apple is apparently bringing facial features to Homekit later this year

Hi John. As usual a great video however ....... I just bought a Circle View and yes setup and use is really easy. Picture quality however is rubbish. Even in bright daylight the video image is so pixelated that it is difficult to make out people’s faces. Maybe this is how it is supposed to be but it does look like the video has been overly compressed. A 1080p video on my iPhone is lovely so why the difference?

What other documentation comes inside the box? I got a small paper with very small letters and the guide, but i can’t remember if those two are the only papers it came inside the box or there should be one more(warranty form)

Hey Jon, Have you continued to use this camera? I'm curious if you've experienced any issues with it connected to an iOS 13 or 14beta hub? In both cases i'm expereincing a lot of missed footage, reports of the camera frequently going offline or just nothing at all. I've tried it both with iOS 14 beta on the Apple TV and iOS 13 on the homepod. Even when set to capture all motion i end up with the same outcome.

Has anyone got any advice regarding number of cameras added and removed from HomeKit Secure Video.... I added my logi circle 2 cameras (x5) when the beta was first released... had huge recording issues and reverted them back to logi app.... seem was a mix of poor upload speeds my end and HomePod / Apple TV fighting for ASV which now seems fixed. As I’m getting fibre installed tomorrow, Iv started converting back to Apple secure video. But it’s only letting me record 2 cameras, when I add a 3rd it says maximum of 5 has already been reached (I’m running 2tb iCloud plan) it’s almost like the previous converted cameras are still stuck in the system somehow, but not presant.

So basically I’m stuck with only 2 camera recording out of 5 and it’s saying I’ve reached my limit. Cameras were removed from home kit when converted and re added back from ASV - logi firmware.

Any advice hugely welcome ✌🏼

I had issues with the Circle 2 in the early days but things seem pretty stable now. The Circle View works great with HSV

I completely don’t understand why Logitech still uses a USB-A plug for such a cameras, especially when it comes to drilling hole through the wall to supply the camera. This is beyond me... why they haven’t used a USB-C which is a way better choice for this application. Logitech is making laugh of users like sometimes Apple does.

I bought this camera from online Apple Store, and gong to return it. It’s turned out that in order to record you need to buy Apple TV or HomePod which another $100-200, other wise this camera only steam live and dies not do recording. So this guy should have mention this most important fact. That what security camera is for to record not to live steam
