Norte
Vinilo Lyrics

a donde vas vos
fue de madrugada
o en algún avión
A donde, si el norte
se perdió
de muy poco color
los que van quedando
no pierden la ilusión
a donde si el norte
se perdio
con todo respeto
es un país de sabios viejos
no se puede creer
pasaporte a no volver
pero qué es lo q pasa
cuando vuelves a casa
These lyrics from Vinilo's song "Norte" depict a sense of leaving and returning home, specifically referencing the concept of the "norte" (north). The first lines suggest that the singer is leaving while questioning where the listener is headed. Whether it was early in the morning or on a plane, the direction of their departure remains uncertain.
The following lines describe the norte as a desert with little vibrancy, where only a few people remaining maintain their hope. This suggests that the norte can be metaphorically understood as a state of mind or a place where dreams and inspiration are lost. The repetition of the question "a donde si el norte se perdio" highlights the sense of confusion and longing for direction that permeates these lyrics.
The subsequent lines express a respectful observation that the norte is a country of wise old individuals. And yet, despite the wisdom that exists, it is challenging to believe that returning is like obtaining a passport to never come back. This conveys the notion that going back to the norte, whether it's a physical place or a metaphysical state of mind, poses difficulties and uncertainties.
In summary, "Norte" by Vinilo explores themes of leaving, returning, and the loss of direction or inspiration. The lyrics reflect a longing for a place or mindset that may have been lost, describing it as desolate while still acknowledging the resilience of those who remain.
