Norwegian musician, born in the 80's, and composer and producer behind the epic electrofunk project Vinter in Hollywood.
In July 2007 Vinter dubbed the industrial noise/club that went down in the studio, Vinter in Hollywood. Later that summer a Noir video was created for the song "pain control".
Raised in the extreme metal and trance scene of the 2000 era, the influences were many. The diversity of his sound was nailed when the french disco scene came to Vinter's attention in 2001. And on top of this movement in France, the inspirations were clearly bound to 80's electrofunk and breakdance music.
In January 2008 he made "Virus", which was broadcast almost immediately after arrival at the radio station NRK P3, Norway's biggest radio channel for youngsters and hip new music. The receptions were wide and diverse but, all in all, it seemed to be the start of something big.
Since then a lot has happened in VIH HQ, an album soon to come, being nominated for the prestigious award "Årets Urørt", which is an annual award for young upcoming Norwegian artists.

Vinter in Hollywood Lyrics

I may not be exactly what you need,
I may not be exactly what you wanted,
I may not be anything at all.
(Repeat)
Are you human?
Are you man?
A machine?
Are you human? (Are you human)
Are you man? (Are you man)
Are you robot? (Are you robot)
A machine? (A machine)
Are you human?
Are you man?
Are you robot?
A machine?
Are you human?
Are you man?
Are you robot?
A machine?
The lyrics to Vinter In Hollywood's song R U Robot are quite simplistic, but they convey a profound message about the human condition. The repetition of the lyrics throughout the song highlights the uncertainty and ambiguity of our identity. The singer is questioning whether they are what another person wants or needs, and are they even anything at all. This could be interpreted as a reflection on the modern-day obsession with labels and pigeonholing people into specific categories.
The repeated question, "Are you human? Are you man? Are you robot? A machine?" speaks to the idea that we are constantly struggling to define ourselves in relation to our own humanity, as well as to the technology that surrounds us. The song suggests that in our increasingly automated world, we can easily lose sight of what makes us truly human.
Overall, R U Robot is a profound commentary on the state of humanity and our relationship with technology. It asks us to consider our own identities and the unique qualities that make us human, while also acknowledging our potential to be defined and constrained by the very machines that we create.
