W.K.? Lyrics

Flower Flower Flower
Flower Flower Flower
Flower Flower Flower

Flower Flower Flower
Flower Flower Flower
Flower Flower Flower

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to W.K.'s song "Flowers" are quite poignant and layered with meaning. The song opens with the singer picking a flower and naming her, only to watch her wither away. This serves as a metaphor for beauty and how it must inevitably fade away. The line "A heart like a locket but I'll find a way in" may refer to the idea that the singer is trying to find a way to touch someone's heart, despite the impermanence of beauty.

The chorus consists of the singer expressing a desire to love and be loved by somebody. The singer wishes to find someone who they will never tire of dreaming of kissing their wonderful lips. This indicates a longing for a deep, passionate connection with someone, a desire that goes unfulfilled.

The second verse takes on a more transcendental tone. Listening to the chimes ringing clear as the morning, the singer feels their heart and spirit soaring and asks if this whole world was made for them. This may be a moment of realization, where the singer understands that the universe is vast and mysterious, but they can find a sense of belonging within it.

The bridge of the song expresses the importance of self-love and discovery. The singer asserts that they must love themselves before anyone else can see what they see and sense where the harmony dwells. This speaks to the idea that one must be comfortable in their own skin and confident in themselves before they can truly connect with another person.

Overall, "Flowers" is a melancholic yet hopeful song about the human need for connection and understanding. It explores the fleeting nature of beauty and the importance of self-love in finding true love with someone else.

As a professional florist in a very successful shop I would never be able to play with flowers they way you do
You should think yourself very lucky
Just think about the sympathy trade enormous in the winter months
I understand that’s not your core business
But please do not think you’re better than a florist that buys imported flowers
Actually for years my Dutch man flowers came in brown paper
We reused the boxes
I also was in the Lee valley area and went straight to the green houses
Your flowers have has massive heat which is not so green

You know what, even if Hazel 1960 has left the building, I for one have thoroughly enjoyed all the thought provoking interaction In the chat.
I'm in New Zealand and am in the thick of summer - drought to be accurate, but rain on the horizon, so my flowers are abuzz with wildlife and so I'm grateful to share such simple pleasures with kindred spirits across the globe. Thankyou Georgie, Fabrizio and fellow flower groupies. I love you all.
