Just Never Say It Enough
Wayne Watson Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

If I called you every time that I think of you
The phone would be ringin' all day
I keep thinkin' that these feelings would mellow with time
But not yet, no way

We've had our shares of heartache and trouble
We can look back and laugh at it now
But a mystery keeps haunting me
How you hurt those you love most somehow

A real love expression is long overdue
Hear my confession of my love for you

[Chorus]
I just never say it enough
So before it's too late and time's up
You're more than all I dreamed you'd be
An answered prayer, gift of God above
I just never say it enough

I believe God inhabits a human heart
I believe it more now than ever before
I see His reflection in you, in you
And I'm sure, I'm sure

But a real love expression is long overdue
Hear my confession of my love for you

[Chorus]

Overall Meaning

The song "Just Never Say It Enough" by Wayne Watson is a heartfelt expression of love and appreciation towards someone important in his life. The opening lyrics speak to the intensity of his feelings towards this person - if he called them every time he thought of them, the phone would never stop ringing. Despite the passage of time, his feelings have not faded, and he acknowledges that.

The following lines reflect on their shared experiences, including heartache and trouble, which now seem like distant memories. However, there is still a lingering sense of confusion regarding how someone could hurt those they love the most. This leads him to make a confession of his love - he realizes that he has not expressed it enough over time.

The chorus provides the song's key message - he just never says "I love you" enough. He acknowledges that time is finite, and he wants to make sure that the person he loves knows how much they mean to him. He sees this person as an answered prayer and a gift from God, and he wants to make sure that he expresses his love before it's too late.

Overall, "Just Never Say It Enough" is a moving reminder of the importance of expressing love and appreciation in our relationships. Wayne Watson's lyrics convey a sense of urgency and sincerity that speaks to the heart of anyone who has ever struggled to tell someone how much they mean to them.

Who says he wasn't appreciated Wayne forged a Name as a Christian singer unique to all. Through the 80's into the 90's as we preached on the streets and in the prisons Wayne's songs always came with a message that was exactly what I needed to encourage and strengthen me just in time all the time. The first song I ever sang in church was "New Lives for Old".
