The lyrics to With Blood Comes Cleansing's song intro are taken directly from the Bible, specifically Romans 3:10-18. In these verses, the apostle Paul is summarizing the message of the entire first three chapters of Romans, which are focused on the nature of sin and the need for salvation. The main idea is that all people - Jews and Gentiles alike - are sinful and under God's wrath. No one is good enough to be saved on their own merit.
The imagery used in the lyrics is striking and unapologetic. The description of people's throats as "open graves" conveys a sense of death and decay.
